Conservation Commission <br /> Meeting of March 24, 1988 <br /> Page 4. <br /> Ms Behrman suggested Rosa Rugosa. She expressed concern with the stability of the <br /> retaining wall and asked if the applicant intends to add more fill behind it. If <br /> no application has been rade to do any fill there, she earned that he had better <br /> not do it. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky stated there is no application to do fill whatsoever and the wall <br /> has been there ar long time. Ms Behrman stated this must be made very clear. Mr. <br /> Slavinsky stated the intent is to block off access to the water from this building. <br /> Ms Behrman repeated, she wished to made this very clear to this particular applic- <br /> ant. <br /> Mr. Kirrane stated he would put this in his correspondence to the applicant. <br /> 1s. Behrman staked it will be stipulated in the order of Conditions that if at <br /> anY future i me work is planned to alter the existing retaining wall , even to <br /> take it out, application will have to be rude to the Board. <br /> Mr. iii mane stated, absolutely. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky stated, of ter the first hearing he conveyed to his client that <br /> as far as the eroding stairway is concerned, it is better to take it out and <br /> revegetake i t; maybe this was not correct <br /> Ms Behrman stated it was; the concern is the degree of revegetat i on. <br /> Mr. Kirrane staked it would be possible to present some type of plan to replace <br /> those stairs as it has been an access that was utilized by the previous owner. <br /> Ms Behrman pointed out that was one owner, riot five. <br /> HEARING CLOSED. <br /> 8: 15 - Board of eater Commissioners (SEA Consultants) Continued from 3/10/88. <br /> The Chairman asked that the No-Lice of Intent be modified to delete Briarwood <br /> d. and copies sent to the St . Douglas Reed presenting. This is the sane <br /> plan as approved in the Emergency order of Conditions. The connection of the <br /> water main is with Highwood Water at Route 23. A hold up of the project is <br /> the negotiations with H i g hwood. <br /> The only area of concern is within the buffer zone of the Mashpee River where <br /> they will be crossing over a. 6 X 8 concrete culvert. They will be 4-5' over <br /> the top of the culvert. <br /> [Is Behrman asked what would be done if the culvert were impacted. Mr. Reed <br /> stated if it were not ghee they thought and shallower and if the backhoe <br /> operator broke through, theme are provisions in the contract stating, if he does, <br /> the operation mut be modified and tie must stop. If there were a problem with <br /> material falling in, a siltation screen will be required downstream. There will <br /> e a full time engineer on the project. <br /> There is a provision for the contractor to submit siltation and erosion control <br /> plans at- the beginning of the project. <br /> Ms Behrman stated debris s rest be removed from the site immediately. He agreed. <br /> She further stated it will be necessary to notify the Conservation Agent 3 days <br /> prior to start of work. <br /> HEARING CLOSED, <br />
