Conservation Commission
September 8 , 1988
Page 8.
more specifically.
DT : Motion made and seconded to deny the request for extension at
this time and that they come in when ready to move forward with
a new set of plans.
REQUEST DENIED - LETTER TO BE WRITTEN.
NX
Mary Hoar - Dick Dubin returned and stated they recognize the need to
compromise and would like to ask for 12 X 20 allowing existing p lleS
to stay.
Mr. Rosenberg stated an 8 X 20 would allow the piles t-o stay. Mr.
Dubin stated his boat can' t go on 8 X 20. The only zitigating factor
is that he tried to do it the right way4
Mr. Rosenbe'rS stated we have had a whole series of applications to
modify docks which people who origin ally cage in for a dock for
dinghy and are now in with a 40' boat.
Mr. Dubin advised the boat is in the aid-30 ' s and he would prefer to
stay with the 1 ' and shorten the width. The only good thing is at least he did it the right
way and it has been there. for 6 or 7 years. He might have been the
type to be tempted not to do the right. thing.
Mrs. Jacobson stated, but then he would not get a Certificate of Comp-
liance and make the purchase . She stated she did not understand why
the 12 X 18 . Mr. Dubin stated most }people prefer 12 because it is more
stable.
Mr. Burns stated he has a ' gide and has no problem docking on it.
Mr. Dubin Mated his client is firmly convinced he would rather go
with the 1 , even if 12 x 16.
Mrs. ,Jacobson stated she would go along with a 12 X 16.
Mr. Cameron stated by doing that he is going to have to pull the
piles. You have a 12 X 28 float there now, to go down to a 12 X 20
would allow the float to rest on these piles . Mrs* Jacobson Mated so
would an 8 X 2010
Mr . Coffey pointed out that we have some 336 sq. ft. we never said was
okay and what we' re pushing for is a 0- 0 compromise.
1r. Dubin stated there is no real good argument to make when someone
wants the biggest dock in the bay. He asked if 12 X 16 would be all
right'
Cass Costa asked, 12 X 16 or an option for an Mr. Rosenberg
stated we have to d one w the other . , Dubin ed the
o t y o stat
client would prefer 12 X 16 rather than 8 X 2 . Ms Costa asked if he
was sure.
Mr . Rosenberg stated it does not make sense because if he has a '
