i
August, , 1989
Proposed Regulations
Page 14.
and these walls are made of concrete, store and timber, and boat ramps,
would add another 700-800 itructures, pretty close t6 1500 -2000 +
structures thathaven' t gone through this procedure.
BILA. BURTIS, Seconset Island* I have worked pretty close with the
Commission, Two years ago, the Mass. Marine Trades Association wonted
against the proposed Chapter 91 and now it' s popped Up again. They
have a 119 page document and it' s counter productive to what the
original Chapter 91 was when originated,
You' re o f ng to have to get up there and call your 1 eSi l atots,
call somebody. A three year amnesty period they' re going to Sive us,
can tell you richt now, I do a lot of dock work, With Chapter 91
au' a looking 2-1/2 years down the road before you set a Chapter 91
o you can do the ,fob. I think Mr. Cahir will back me up. It' s2-1/2
years from the tie you get your drawings, time you file , you' re
looping at least 2 years. With the case load they have now, they
can' t get it out. It' s all counterproductive of what originally
Chapter 91 w'as, it ' s not 119 pages.
Th-e Mass. Marine Trades Assoc. is lobbying against. it and here
will- be a meeting of us guys. I urge everybody to get out here. I
have a format for a letter if you want to write to your legislator or
send one to Mr. Cahir. We stopped it before; 1 think we had 3, 000
people show up in Gloucester and that's the only way you can do it, by
voicing our opinion.
CHAIRMAN: Let me ask you to please ma# a positive s ages ons, don' t
just say you are against the changes. I want to thank you all for
coming# We will make sure that the transcript gets in to the State
Meeting was adjourned at p. m.
