Community Facility Needs Assessment Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Wednesday,November 29, 2000 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall —Meeting Room I <br /> Present: M, Horne? G. Frederick, F. Blythe, J. Long, K, Layer, L. Patrick, <br /> Absent: W. Taylor. <br /> Public Attendee: Mike Bailey,l ashpee Enterprise. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> UPDATES <br /> ATE <br /> Fred Blythe presented to the Committee the proposed new site for the football/soccer <br /> fields that would he located behind Heritage Park. Size ofthe'traet: Almost 9 acres, Fred <br /> isp roposing to do another RFP for the new site and to include both fields in the RFP, <br /> On Saturday(12/2)the National Guard will look at the proposed new site...they have <br /> offered to clear the land at no charge. They do it as a Community Service. <br /> Mike Horne asked whether fields will be fenced in..,They will be to protect against <br /> vandalism. <br /> PROPOS L <br /> Three firms(2 from Boston; I from Maine) submitted proposals. <br /> All 3 outfits appear to be highly qualified with strong credentials. <br /> Interviews with the 3 have been scheduled for Wednesday, December 6, starting at 2 p.m, <br /> in Meeting Room 1. <br /> Each firm will have one hour to present their proposal. Therefore the interviews are <br /> expected to run from -5 p.m. <br /> 5 , <br /> The firms come to get Town requirements and then they'll each give 3 possible scenarios <br /> for Committee consideration, Possible flog of the session: <br /> (1) what do you want <br /> (2) Is it feasible-, <br /> (3) Submit to Selectmen-, <br /> (4) If approved by Selectmen,then schematics done; and, finally, <br /> (5) Selectmen and Town must approve funding, <br /> Jinx Lasked about checking references of the firms..,this is to he done. <br />
