i Community Facility Needs Assessment Committee f Minutes of Meeting Meld Wednesday, June 13, 2001 Mashpee Town Hall—Meeting Room Present: G. Frederick,F. Blythe, J. Long} L. Patrick, and W. Taylor. Absent: K. Layer, and M. Horne. Audience: Betty Nichols; Arthur Weinstein; Mert Sapers, Presenter: Bargmann Hendrie+ Archetype (bh+a) quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 3;1 o p.m. bh+a bh+a addressed the group stating the purpose of this meeting with the committee was to present to the committee hh+a's Scheme A and Scheme B site plans for a Mashpee Community Facilities plan. They distributed copies of these 2 proposed options. The committee members, bh+a, as well as the audience attendees, discussed both plans in detail...covering all topics from building layouts; locations; parking; and serious comments and concerns regarding traffic flow in and out of the area and impact, if any, on the school facilities. `ane Taylor raised a concern as to the School's feeling about using the road. The response from bh+a to this was that they had spoken with School officials and they were Crloka " with the traffic flow. CONCLUSIONS The consensus of all in attendance was that they very much liked Scheme A. And all congratulated the bh+a group on the job they did with the layout, A possible approach to consider if Mashpce were to proceed with this project would be to phase the construction as follows: (1) Senior Center (2) Leisure Services (3) Ice link(because of revenue that can be generated) Fred Blythe suggested that bh+a contact Worn Fudala of Planning to determine if the area they slotted for parking could be used for parking since it may belong to low.-income housing.
