5 <br /> TOWN of MASHPFF <br /> j <br /> COASTAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES ES Off' JANUARY 4 , 1995 <br /> The Mashpee Coastal Resource Management Committee met at Mashpee <br /> Town Hall at 3: 00 p.m, on Tuesday, January 24, 1995 . <br /> Board Members present: George Baker, Jim Hanks, Torn Fudala, <br /> Perry Ellis , Greg Taylor, Bob whritenour, Fd Govoni , Bob Sherman. <br /> Also present: Hill Hau , ore Evans , Hen Gordon., <br /> The Minutes of January 17 , 1995 were tabled for later discussion. <br /> Mr, Fudala gave a rationale for consideration to retain Objective <br /> C. which deals with the one-foot rise in sea level. Mr. Fudala <br /> made a motion to put this language back, and the vote was 3 <br /> in favor and 4 opposed. Mr. Fudala amended the motion to read <br /> simply "to encourage consideration of . . t " , it was seconded <br /> by Bob Sherman. Discussion ensued. Dr. Cordon stated that <br /> the engineering consultants who will be hired are in a better <br /> position to explain to clients what needs to be dome. Mr. Hams <br /> Supported the amended motion. Mr. Ellis and Mr. Govon i both <br /> supported keeping the language re: sea level rise out and <br /> deciding on issues as they arise. Mr. whritenour stated that <br /> these are tenants to create By-Laws, and the Implications are <br /> that there will he regulations to support these objectives . <br /> A vote was taken on the motion to include language "to encourage <br /> cons ideration of relative sea level rise on all new private <br /> or public construction*. ; 3 were ,in favor and 5 were opposed. <br /> Mr. Sherman left the meeting. Mr. Fudala stated that he supports <br /> the sea level rise language in obi ect ive H. since it .is a reason <br /> to maintain buffer areas. Steve Cadrin agreed that the language <br /> should he left in. A correction was noted by Mr. Fudala to <br /> read "minimize storm damage" (not drainage) . Mr. wr itenour <br /> suggested a change in ob'ective Q. to support minimizing <br /> development in coastal flood zones so as to minimize loss of <br /> life and property. Mr. Fudala suggested leaving- iri the language <br /> under Objective U. re: boat and pedestrian traffic, and Mr. <br /> Ellis stated he was opposed and that this was ,inserted after <br /> the original plan. No change. <br /> A review of the Coastal. Resources Policies occurred and the <br /> following reflects the changes that were made <br /> l) moire "exception" to the end of the sentence in parentheses ; <br /> add after septic systems <br /> ,2 ) delete in entirety <br /> b <br /> r� wn <br />
