PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING COiMMITTEE MUTING OF MAY X85 1985 The following meirbers of the Public Works Building Coiiiiiittee were present for a meeting held at the public Works Facility: Samuel C. Re, John Wyl l lCA Chester Brown 5 Anthony Fi o re nt i n i and Chester Sheets. Ellis Laycock was also present. The «feet i ng was called to order at 7:10 p.m. Mr. Re read copies of several nienios addressed to Ernest Virgilio in answer to memos received, Mr�. He also stated it is planned to use that area for things that need a bard sur- face, such as a truck wash station for town vehicles. He was agreeable to the removal of asphalt on the ether side. He stated he has 13 yards of loom and 1000 flowers for landscaping purposes. Ellis suggested that the asphalt be removed forward of the well and crushed stone put in as a test area. Water coming off the roof would go through the stone and into the sand, It i s his feeling that water off the roof onto the hot top could give an icing condition. He also stated he would like to see the proposed island put in the front to prevent parking there. Chester Brown suggested Mr. V i rg i 1 io have the selectmen write a letter to the coninittee requesting a change in design to allow the asphalt to be left where it is in order to relieve the committee of responsibility as this is against the recommendation of the architect. It was agreed a letter will be sent to Mr. Virgilio acknowledging his request that the paving should be left on the north side of the bu i 1 di ng andg ran ti rig committee approval . Mr. pe referred to Mr. Vi rgi l i o's memo concerning the minutes of April 23 and read the paragraph in question pointing out that it stated that Aaron Cohen came to the facility to put Mr. Virgilio on notice that the gas bill belonged to the town It was agreed that the selectmen or town counsel should contact the comm- ittee directly concerning any questions or problems involving the facility or committee meetings.
