t
r
MINUTES May 20, 1999 2 ATTAQUIN PARK COMMITTEE
BEACH STICKERS - Jing stated the Tribal Council should have someone at the beach on
Memorial Day to sale them and to remind people that on the I 91 of June they will have to
have them to enter. David will advise the Council. Shelley asked what are visitors to do who
are down for the weekend and want togo to the beach. Jinn stated they could either ride a
bike or wally because the problem is the parking.
BEACH ACCESS MEETING W Jinn mentioned there would be a meeting in June if anyone
were interested in attending he would semi out a memo. Ralph noted he would like to attend
because people are inquiring about beach access for fishermen. Jin- stated it depends on what
the Chealer read years back and what it was interpreted to mean.
BUDGET - Elizabeth noted that during early establishment of the Attaquin Park Committee,
funds were available for improvements. The Committee should be thinking about what
dollar amount to submit to the Board of Selectmen as well as a budget. Jayne added
approximately$5K was funded previously.
PROPOSED MEETIN r DATE - David proposed the following scheduled meetings dates
for the remainder of 1999: June 17t" July1 t August 19th and September 16 and no
meetings during the winter months, Jing seconded, all agreed..
LARGE GROUPS - Jing informed Sgt. B evacqua that the Harbormaster questioned if we had
anything going on at the beach on Saturday the 15"'. Jinn replied no and the Harbormaster
gg g p
stated there was a small rowing club that wanted to have a skull race there. Jinn stated he
envisioned a small club to be 3 or 4 small boats so it was agreed to allow it because beach
stickers were not being checked then and it was still cold. Jim noted he did not envision the
large group that actually showed up. Elizabeth added there was even someone acting like a
gate attendant and turning people away placed at the entrance. Jing suggested to keep it from
happening again the function should be moved to the other pond.
Trash Pim - Elizabeth suggcsted the conmttee talk with Greg Taylor to have more barrels
placed in the parr during the sunnner. Jim added that the barrels should be emptied on a
Friday afternoon not morning and that the same problem exists with the porta-potties. They
are to be emptied 3 times a weer on Monday, Wednesday} and Friday. He has checked but
sometimes no one shows up until Thursday night. Ralph suggested pickup should be the last
haul on the way back to the shop.
Being no further business, Shelley motioned to adjourn this meeting at 6:48 p.m., Jayne
seconded} all agreed.
Respectfully submit e ,
Sandra Hicks
Board Secretary
