Bver thinch concentrates towards <br /> the bogs. <br /> ( page 4 ) They plan to continue surface water sampling and <br /> .install three additional monitoring wells and do air <br /> rnon1torin . <br /> (page 3 0 ) Alternate c offers a conceptual to install an <br /> extraction well , supply a three--phase power source , and install <br /> a treatment plant.. A discussion ensued about the distance of <br /> the power source and the expenses involved. <br /> In response to Elliot R. ' s question about time frame, Nancy <br /> stated they hope to select an alternative next week , complete <br /> engineering in October, start construction in November, and <br /> complete by Larch 1999. By April 1999 we can start the one-year <br /> Monitoring time frame for the cranberries. Permitting could <br /> extend this time frame. <br /> (page 31) Alternative D involves pond development with 100 trues <br /> per day to move the sand pile. Bob S. raised concerns with <br /> this option and the time involved with con Com and other <br /> agencies. <br /> (page 3 4) Alternative E involves a phased approach to include <br /> iron filings passive treatment, <br /> Bob S. raised issue of creating trout habitat by sacrificing <br /> wetland habitat for other species. They may have to mitigate <br /> by taking another area; it was suggested to look at the child' s <br /> River. <br /> (page 1.o ) Nancy B. reviewed the s-1 Titne 1 ine and stated the <br /> goal is to test free by September 2000. Mashpee will be <br /> compensated this year and next. <br /> There are two research studies being conducted, one to determine <br /> if EDB enters cranberries in the surface water and another <br /> to determine if EDB enters the roots and vines* Results are <br /> expected in FY 000. <br /> These options- are not the final remedy. They hope to gather <br /> input at the six-dour meetings scheduled for next week. <br /> -2- <br />
