if
. Buckingham presented a copy of the report "Subsurface Leachate
isc arge -,-into John's Pond, Mashpe It (Environmental Tanaement In-
stitute.)
n-
s ti Lute. Ile was talking t Kerfoot the other night and said' erfoot is
quite sure that we would be male to get money tinder the 301 program for
lake restoration and it will tl".e in with this grant that the Conservation
Commission will be sponsoring with him. We will have a meeting after the
holidays and talk it over. He Is willing to go, ahead with all the ecre-
tarial work for the applications for these grants. Should have a meeting
with the citizens of the town and hopefully the funds Will available
by ate spring or early summer - it may not be necessary to put it in Tom
Meeting.
Mrs. Studley asked Mr. Pr.r er if the Trustees Res er vati on land is being
surveyed and h replied that everything within tie boundaries of the Mashpee
River Watershed is being done.
11-tro nuckingham asked if Mrs. Studley had had a chance' to look through
a paragraph on acquisition funds - Mrs. Studley looked through it. It was
stated that we c an't buy anything, but we will sena for the inf ormtion
anFAT a Y.
In reference t o the maps, vie should show any-thing that I s o med by
the Town, State or Federal overn ent, rstees, o cuts, Audubon etc.
no matter who owns 't. When we 're deterring what our needs. are, we can
subtract out what the Trustees own. mina.l s golf course, for instance,
performs a function and should -be on the map.
The Mashpee Kiger Corridor was discussed and it was suggested that

pers onl letters be sent to Babb, Behan Sturgis and D'Antu ono 'inviting
there to attend the meeting on January 13, 1977. (Dr. 'Antuono was in-
cluded because it wit 1 assist the educational.- program within the- school
system.)
14x. 'arker stated that the situation is that we have most of the data
assembled. We can't come up with any framework of a clan because we don't
know what the members s of the community grant -- got to find out the best
places to put things - which one do *.ie want - need to know from us,first
f all, the alternatives. For instance,, o we -rant picnic areas? We are
coring along very well with the data, but need input From the. public, hmich
p , w
A?1 give there opportunity to mere ahead.
Mr. Parked noted that this is one issue that no sanerou could
g p op-
pose pose - it would be ridiculous to say "Don't plan for the River Corridor."
You couldn't actively and publicly oppose it - wait and see what happens
with the suit. .
Mrs. DeLory mentioned figuring on Thur da g
venin either the 3rd
or the 10th of February for the meeting - maybe the 10th will be better
than the 3rd. Jaruary 13th is the IeLashpee ever Corridor meeting day
time meeting at 10.900.)
Mr. Parker is r eeting tomorrow$ December* 17, with Peter Sloane and
Leonard Beck. At that meeting thev are ruing to be drafting the personal
letter which will be sent to the various influential people we wanttD ,haye
there. They will also be developing a questionnaire for some kind of p s_
hive resp e, which they will .-
ll .fill-out--at the-rmeeting_ and-hand in,---It _.
should b a fairly intelligent meeting and they hope a lot of people shoo
uta. w should have lot publicity. The publicity is coring f' corn Cape
Cod Planning., but there should be an effort rade on the local level.
They were asking when we ret last Wednesday how re Ire going to dis-
tribute the notification and explanation o the meeting. ire can have the
n M r% # n v r tom,.,r T.,...y. 1..,..1 f •.*.L ..1__ _! ,3 I%-- . . - It -0.
