t
water and electrical hookups, leaving i •
n all trees except for the cwi
sites. It was recalled that this wasvehemently turned down at Town Meet-
ing,
eet-
ing.
Mr. Parker- suggested we talk. about it in our general aims and when we
narrow in on 'it, we have to come up with a definite space assignment, etc.
We have also got to consider that this town has nothing in the way of bus-
iness to bring people in - nothing to offer - no places to +work for those
who want to work - have to plan for the e c on oy for the town.
Mrs. Studley feels sure that it will be defeated, but would like- it i
there anyway.
Mr-. LeClair thinks we should allow for tenting area, buit was. told that
according to the Town ylai,rs, there is to be no tenting. It was said that
tents may be used by permission of the Selectoren. It's a,luTaysbeen in the
books. At Town Meeting, they talked about tents in back' yards and you can't
have them except with permsssi n of the Board of Selectmen.-
Mr.
electmen.-
Mr. Parker asked if there are any other changes, but everyone' likes it
the way It is. This will complete this section of the plan. Review the
progress that has been made so far. The Conservation of Natural Resources
book is inaccurate to a certa;-n extent and should be updated, dux gesting
that we delete and refine if necessary. That's our next meed -- an accurate
statement of all lands not of- e d by the T ..*n State or Federal Government,,
public or semi-public or private or conservation groups and the facilities
that are located on those lands axed .also lands under conservation easement
or re triction - what kinaEs of activities that are restricted - that's -4at
e need at the moment.
e had hoped to be substantially along on that by now,, but it will be
another-month or so-. - whatwe're doing is inventorying existing -- acidities,
not potential sites, just what you have to work with in the town. It
doesn't have to be super accurate. we should mention that 'vie have an 1 -
hole golf course and it is public - over here we have a piece of town-
071med land, stating roughly where it is; roughly want's on it - what the
facilities are, oven if privately owned. Isle can even take it down to r -
cr.eation l facilities that are there only to serge a particular group, in-
cluding New Seabuty facilities, as facilities you don't have rovide for
people. we don't have to have i t down to engineering accuracy. Mentioning
the existing facilities is important, because the town doesn't have to pick
thea up -- they're being provided by homeowners associations, etc. The Sand-
wich facilities Jim, LeClair was talking about - mention it somewhere in our
narrative, even though not used especially by lwla hpee people.
Mr. Parker continued by s-a.yi ng that'he would like to get the inve ntory
finished during the coming month if it is at all possible. He said it's
time to start thinking about what -our'needs ire - we have- our goals and ob-
jectives,
b-
jec i s, now we can start determining what we need to do to attain some of
those objectives - institute some type of public information program. He
said that we w- ' ill probably= _ end that_we+ pan to provide, field, sport and
playground facilities ; what are our needs? Do we need to improve. facil-
.hies or total area what we need to do to achieve these. This is a five-
year action program.
Discussed setting date for next meeting 1 pith Planning Board on January
5.) we don't know how far Planning 3oard has gotten on the map - they have
the original master plan - they were pretty accurate as far as locating the
lanai - don't know if they will be ready by the- 5th or not. The resources we
were talking about would have to be plotted on that reap and personal know-
ledge amplifying on what they have. Figure out what the progress i -the
5th and- then set a date,
f ll v% U 3 Y.1 Y Ai+. f7,1€ f7. C.T,A 4-1,,4- t t r. r1__ t 1 _.L A-_
