Sherman advised the Cranberry Bog Sub-committee is compri edof c rr i loners <br /> only. . t <br /> Mr. Homeyer suggested Steve Ball and Brian Handy should be on the committee, <br /> Mrs. Ferriday stated it would not be wise to have the lessee on the coittee <br /> and Steve 1s the middle man to sago the Commission direct contact. Input from <br /> Mr. Mirto would certainly be welcome. <br /> Mr. Ball read from his proposal concerning the Quashnet. He requested a letter <br /> of support from the Comd-ssi,on for Steve Furley of Fisheries & wildlife to try <br /> to get the ball rolling. <br /> Mr. Sherman asked where the sediment pool will be going. Mr. Ball explained <br /> there ill. be two sediment pools, one at the pump house and the second pool <br /> will be at the southern terminus of the bog. only one at a time will be used. <br /> The cost will run between $1000 and. $1500 to pump it out. He estimates five <br /> days to do the project. The rental fee for the pump will be $300 a week for <br /> a three inch diphrE�p pump; labor, haybales and gas expenses are unknown. <br /> Mr. Sherman asked if it is proposed that the Commission absorb these costs? <br /> Mr. Bala stated it should come out of the maintenance money, Mr. Shemin <br /> stated a firmer figure of the cost will be required. There is competition <br /> for the rest of that honey already this year. <br /> Mr. Ball stated the rental would be $300, with $600 to come out of the main- <br /> tenance fund.. At the end of the southern bog there is a lot of vegetation <br /> in this proposal, he would like to keep that vegetation there for at least <br /> ten days after this project is clone to act as a filter. <br /> t <br /> Mr. Sherman stated the removal of vgetation in that portion of the river i <br /> not exempt, in his opinion, under the Act.
