AS PEE CONSERVATION COM;MIS of <br /> Minutes of November 3., 1994 <br /> comissionersPresent: Gertrude Simmons-"Ferriday, Harry <br /> esrosiers, John Fit simmons, John <br /> Johansen, Charles Greer, Frank <br /> o ever, Susana Lannik, Robert Lopez. <br /> The chair called the meeting to order at :55 p.m. <br /> 55 PUBLIC COPM T PERIOD: None, <br /> 7:10 E. THOMAS JONES for a Determination of Applicability on <br /> pruning and limbing at 202 Daniel's Island Road. Mr. Jones <br /> presenting. He advised he is pruning some hurricane damaged <br /> trees and live limbs hanging over the roof of the house and <br /> garage. <br /> Mr. Sherman asked if the trees flagged were the only ones <br /> coming down, seven total"? If there are more, the Commission <br /> would need to know where they are, He suggested meeting at <br /> the site with Allenby Tree. <br /> Mr. Jones stated it could he a total of nine trees. <br /> Mr: Sherman stated he was told by Town Counsel. that Negative <br /> Determinations could not be conditioned but has since been <br /> told by Carl Dierker of DEP that they can. This could be <br /> negative conditioned upon hire meeting with Allenby and <br /> conditioning that the trees are dead. Mr. Tones agreed. <br /> . Sherman stated the oaks are not on the bank and are less <br /> crucial <br /> VOTE: Motion Stade and seconded to find a Negative. <br /> Determination with the contingency that the Agent <br /> review this with the arborist and authorize him to <br /> determine what may be taken down. unanimous vote. <br /> NEGATIVE VE DETERMII AT OI . <br /> STEVEN d*. WEIK for. a Determination of applicability on . <br /> the After-The-Fact clearing of trees and ' spreading of wood <br /> chips at 129 Deerfoot Circle. Mr.. Weik advised he cleared <br /> nine or ten trees for the purpose of making a plan area for <br /> his son and did not realize he was doing anything wrong. <br /> Mr. Sherman stated cutting did not incur into the 50 foot <br /> buffer fer� strip. He asked Mr, Welk if he would be willing to d <br /> some plantings at the demarcation where cutting cannot take <br /> place This can be conditioned. It is 400 or 500 feet from <br /> Santuit Pond, on the east side. <br /> Mrs. Ferriday asked if there is any erosion problem and was <br /> told there is not. Mr. Weik will put down wood chips. <br /> Public comments: none. <br />
