NASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of December 15, 1994 <br /> Commissioners present: Gertrude Simmons Ferriday, Frank <br /> Ho Byer, John Johansen, John <br /> Fitzsimmons, Harry Desr'os iers, <br /> Robert Lopez . <br /> The meeting was called to order at p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Greg Taylor came before the <br /> Commission concerning a negative determination received for <br /> Rte. 130 and 151 , He has been successful in obtaining <br /> funding for overlay of 151 , He had promised to put haybales <br /> and siltation fences near Algonquin Ave. Funding is from a <br /> different source. <br /> The State of Massachusetts has funded Falmouth for a 1-12' <br /> bike lane on each side of Rte. 151 , It is planned to have <br /> this continue on the Mashpee side, perhaps the following <br /> year. <br /> He asked how the Commission would like to handle this <br /> additional work, as an RDA or Notice of Intent He is <br /> looking to do the work in the spring. <br /> Ir. Sherman suggested driving this area with Ir. Taylor next <br /> week and then he will report back to the Commission. <br /> Asked if 1-1/2 feet would be too narrow, Mr. Taylor stated if <br /> it was 4 feet wide, it would trigger 1FPA and the State warts <br /> to avoid that. <br /> Mr. Fitzsimmons would not want any shortcut procedures, based <br /> on past performances. <br /> Town counsel, Kate Connolly, of Koplan & Paige, P# . was <br /> present for the next hearing. <br /> 7:00 MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION for a Determination ination of <br /> Applicability to ascertain the status of work done in 1993 <br /> (dredging of the Santuit River with associated depositing of <br /> dredge spoils and destruction of vegetation on the bark of <br /> said river) , Assessors leap 38 , Block 9 . <br /> Present for the hearing were Donald Jermyn, Bog operator; <br /> Atty. Frank iLuna; Jeffrey L. Carlson, cranberry Growers <br /> Association; Geoffrey Lenk, Land owner; Donald Liptack, Soil <br /> Conservation Service; Frank Caruso. <br /> Atty DiLuna introduced his party. <br /> I LU A: Being considered is a cranberry bog that is being <br /> operated for commercial purposes. The waterway of the issue <br /> is the riverway here (pointing) , from here to here is <br /> natural waterway that has served the bogs for many years, We <br /> have a bypass canal pointing from here to here; this area <br /> was hand dug. We own both sides of the bypass canal coming <br />
