what we would propose in the future is we can set the damn <br /> here so we can stop flow; we can stop flow down here. The <br /> process takes about four hours, if done mechanically. The <br /> machine would be a small tractor type machine. All the <br /> fluids in that machine are food quality fluids, which means i <br /> they are natural mineral oils which are exempt from our oil <br /> contamination statutes, so there is no worry about that. The <br /> machine has sufficient capacity for a full eight hours of <br /> operating fuel so that the entire process can be done without <br /> refueling. It would be, done once every three years <br /> eliminating the need for yearly maintenance. We could put a <br /> series of haybales here while the activity is taping place, <br /> leave those haybales in place while we release this flume so <br /> any disturbed siltation would catch on the haybales prior to <br /> being removed. There would be absolutely no consequences to <br /> downstream. The other level is set, and has <br /> been set* it was set long before I got there, to maintain the <br /> level. As the water cores up in Santuit Pond, it goes over <br /> the flume and down the river. As the water drops in the <br /> summertime, 'it drops below the boards and the water* starts <br /> going out. That's the control, as far as this pond i <br /> concerned; it controls itself, it is not regulated. <br /> FIT SIMMONS: So the level of water in the pond sets the level <br /> of water further down the flume. <br /> JERMYN: Correct, we get a large rainstorm and the pond cones <br /> up 3 or 4 inches, it goes over this flume board by 3 or 4 <br /> inches down the river to the pond until it gradually seeps <br /> it's own level , whatever the level is exactly, as far as <br /> elevations, in height I cannot tell you exactly.
