September 1995 <br /> Page 3 <br /> Pubs.is comments: none . <br /> VOTE: motion made and seconded to close the hearing <br /> with the amendment to the notice . <br /> HEARING CLOSED — AMENDMENT ACCEPTED. <br /> 30 MASHPEE DEPT. of PUBLIC WORKS K for the construction of a <br /> 2 .3 mile bike path along the south side of Route 130 . Norman <br /> Hayes presenting with Greg Taylor . There aro only two <br /> wetland sites on the path , at the herring run and an <br /> intermittent stream .. Thoy have received the certificate on <br /> the ENR and the Cape Cod Commission has stated a DRI 'is not <br /> necessary . <br /> Abutter notification receipts were provided . <br /> Intermittent Stream= This is at Meetinghouse Road and <br /> Goodspeed , across the street , under the road . There is a 15 " <br /> 201 <br /> concrete bulkhead . The path will not get into the <br /> resource area . It will be a small bridge on sono tubes . <br /> They are going to do some catch basins to intercept ground <br /> water which will percolate and purify i t before o f into <br /> the creek . There will be some fill and h yb i s will b <br /> staked . There 's no impact to the wetland . <br /> The major issue is the Route 130 herring run . Because of the <br /> steepness of the bank , th path will be 5 feet wide , brought <br /> up -very tight . It will be going between th bulkhead and <br /> concrete . <br /> Mr . Sherman questioned how many trees are involved? Mr . <br /> Hayes stated five trees in all will be removed . <br /> Mr . Sherman asked if they would be willing to do compensatory <br /> plantings , few shrubs Mr . Hayes stated they had not <br /> planned to do so but this can be worked out with Mr . Sherman <br /> and Mr . Taylor . <br /> Mr . Taylor stated d o n the museum site t her is no room to <br /> plant . <br /> Mr . Sherman n sugges 4r+*lamd in out 1! feet there 'is bare spot <br /> on the bank that could be planted . Mr . Taylor agreed . <br /> Mr . Hayes advised they will leave the great Black Oaks . <br /> Mr . Sherman stated 'if they have no objections , they could <br /> meet and look at the trees for replacements . This was <br /> agreed . <br />
