Mendelson has offered to donate the southern tip ' of the island to the town . It is skinny , but could be reached by boat . It is a Prime area for quahogs . A letter is being sent i n . Mr . Fitzsimmons sed he does not like reducing the tax liability 'or the town .and was not sure he would endorse this offer . Conservation proper y o the town has the obligation o maintain it for safety . Mr . Rosenberg er stated they can put a Conserva-tion easement o .'t and make it available . The Agent advised the selectmen have not come up with protocol for that . It was suggested to put Mr . Mendelson in contact with Marr Robinson . PoPPONESSET BEACH ASSOC . : The hearing was continued at the request of the applicant . Chris Ross of DEP is coming down next week to view it . Michael Gro . ke was advised to think of alternatives . Mr . Sherman d l d not feel the swales are routine m lmen nce . It is very unusual for DEP to come down at this point , usually only on an appeal . Mr . Rosenberg asked if here was any reaction from fir . Gro z ke on the proposed elevated walkway*-.,,, Mr . The Agent stated the Commission has been to easy on people i n permitting things in the resource with an RDA . Mr . Green stated 'if they pave the road without the walkway and scales , there would be a problem with hydrocarbons and wiping oto everything in Deans Pond . Every big storm , hat road goes under . CZM will send another memo after the site visit this week .
