5 December 1996
Page 5.
George farcy, abutter, advised he is a state registered engineer. The
drawing provided depicts the Darcy-Lipkin pier inaccurately. It makes the
Locarno float much further away than it will be. Also, there is a dimensional
discrepancy in the footage. This points out the need for engineered drawings.
The float is extremely large in comparison to others in the neighborhood.. He
had been told the boat would be 23 feet, it is now 25 feet. This structure wiR
be now closer to the cord grass that sticks up out of the water. The size of the
float is immense, 224 s,f.
Mr. Sherman stated the Commission has a standing policy of not allowing
more than 200 s.f of floats; that will be addressed.
Mr. Darcy stated five years ago 11r. Cohen applied and was denied a float
because of navigational issues. He was allowed to pull up a 7 foot dinghy and
keep his beat out in the river; Now this is larger and the effect of the float on
the grass is a concern.
Mrs. Lipkin stated they told it would have to be a shared dock. She expressed
concern about the safety of bring in boats in that small. area.
Mr. Desrosiers stated the Comraission is only addressing environmental
issues.
Mr. Locarno stated it sounded as it might be appropriate to have an
engineered study done. He tried to have a simplified Chapter 91 ung but he
can see there is a lot of opposition so he will have the engineered plan done.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded to continue the bearing to January 23,
1997 at the request of the applicant. Unanimous Vote.
HEARING CONTINUE To JANUARY 23 1991 A :30 PoMo
:50 PATRICIA JACKSON, TR, 394 Quinaquisset Ave., continued from 1
November 1996, Dave Sanicki presenting. Mr. Sanicki stated the structure is
out of the Commission's jurisdiction.
Mr. Sherman stated there is disturbance and alteration within the 100 feet.
Mr. Sanicki stated only a few feet. This was continued because the
condominium association was net notified, the immediate unit owners were.
Public comments:
