MA NPEE WATERWAYS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES FEBRUARY 5, 1996 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Jing Hanks, Berg Gordon, Herb Silver, <br /> Fred Fordham, Dan Home er, William Rowland. <br /> Also present: Perry Ellis, Harbormaster <br /> Rick York, Shellfish Constable <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7*00 P.M. <br /> PUBLIC CONT.* None, <br /> MINUTE Minutes of December 4 , 1995 were accepted as written. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Harbormaster Mr. Ellis reported that mooring bills <br /> have been mailed out, Mr., Ellis is working on obtaining grant <br /> money from the state for dredging. A Request -for Proposal (RFP) <br /> was issued but withdrawn because of complaints received from <br /> engineering firms. There was too much work identified for the <br /> amount of money available. A new RFP was - issued _ covering only <br /> the Waquoit Pay and Poppone s set Pay projects., A 'second RFP <br /> will be issued for the Mashpee River projects. The new bids <br /> would be for new permits for previously dredged Po ponesset <br /> Bay areas and Waquo-.t Hay areas with no cap on the amount of <br /> funds listed, The new bids are due back on February 16th. <br /> Mr. Ellis reported on. the Capital. Improvements Committee statin <br /> that his requests for $15r000 ( $5,000 engineerin / 10 ,0oo <br /> construction) for a new town dock in Little River and $30, 000 <br /> for a Varag e were received favorably, Dr# Gordon offered to <br /> help draw up plans for the dock. Mr, Ellis noted that he is <br /> competing with other requests for Town items ( i .e. Fire Sub <br /> Station) . <br /> Mr a Ellis reported he will be attending the academy program <br /> for Harbormasters which will meet one weep per month <br /> beginning February through April 9 6 at the Mass. Maritime Academy <br /> and sponsored by the Plymouth Police Academy. <br /> The following docks were reviewed <br /> ( 1) George Leach, existing dock which extends 42 ' from MHW, <br /> No objection. <br /> (2 ) James Lam Bert, existing dock, ramp and float a ends 38 ' <br /> from MHWo No oh'ecti.on. <br />
