t <br /> Page <br /> Waterways Commission <br /> Minutes-revised <br /> January 14, 1997 <br /> QLD • <br /> Shellfish Cgnstabl&Re <br /> Richard York,Shellfish Constable indicated that he is presently applying <br /> for grant funding in the amount of$20,000 for the propagation of quahog <br /> seed. <br /> Mr. ``Fork made note of a recent article that appeared in the Martha's <br /> Vineyard, Vineyard Gazette relative to the re-planting of scallops. <br /> Mr. York stated that the Vineyard has a five town cooperative hatchery, <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the production of scallops■ <br /> QMM=E REPORTS: <br /> Fresh M fi=r: <br /> An update of fresh water activities teraslven by Bill Taylor. his noted <br /> the newly fornned Lake Management Comnfittee had its first meeting. <br /> Jim McGonagle was elected to serve as Chairman, and has offered to <br /> schedule future meetings at his home. <br /> The Executive Secretary should be consulted with regards to the Open <br /> Meeting Law as it relates to the schedule of meetings to be held in a private <br /> residence recommended Dr. Gordon} <br /> Dr. Gordon suggested the committee meet on a regular monthly basis. <br /> With the opening of the newly renovated Town Hall facility}the newly <br /> fortned comnuttee may be able to schedule open meetm' s at this site <br /> beginning in February. <br /> Mr.Hanks indicated that fresh water related regulations contained in the <br /> Mashpee/Wakeby Regulations brochure will be reviewed. A subcommittee <br /> comprised of Mr.Hams, Mr. Taylor,Mr. Ellis, and Mr, McGonagle will <br /> formulate a fresh water brochure to distribute to those using the lake facility <br /> With regards to the water level of the lake,Mr. Taylor reported that at <br /> this time, the lake is higher than normal, and should be reviewed* It was <br /> noted that the DPW removed, and cleaned some of the boards} <br /> All Bass Tournament permits have been completed. There are n <br /> trout tournament applications to date reported Mr,Ellis■ <br /> Pop ,,.Vinessal. ay, <br /> ...�, <br /> Herb Silver gave a brief update to the Commission with regards to <br /> general activities in Popponesset Bay. <br />
