Jim Hanks gave the commission a quick overview of our present candidate, Mr.
wartzb augh, by going over his resume briefly.
At this time,, our applicant was brought back into the room for our interview. John
wartzbaugh is a registered voter and fill time resident in Mashpee, on Fells Pond in
New Seabury. Mr. Swartzbaugh started the interview by telling commission members
what first attracted him to becoming a full time resident of Mashpee and then to further
become involved by pursuing a position on the Waterways Commission. Mr.
wartzbaugh gave us a brief history of his work in public affairs and his work and
interest in environmental affairs, He also gave us his input and position on the Mashpee
River Dredging Prod ect. This served the commission well on getting an inside glimpse as
to what Mr. Swartzbaugh might be able to offer the waterways Commission as a
member.
Jim Hanks and other members thanked Mr. Swartzbaugh for his time and input and were
told that the commission would be in touch with him. He then left the interview and the
meeting,
While the meeting was still in closed session, Gerald Daly made a motion that we
recommend John Swartzbaugh for a permanent seat on the waterways Commission. Jim
Hanks seconded the motion and all other members voted in favor.
Jerald Daly made a motion to adjourn the executive session as well as the regular
meeting. Donald Fund seconded the motion and all other members voted in favor.
Chairman, Jim Hanks, adjourned the meeting at 10:32 p.m,
Respectfully Submitted,,
Jennifer Ahearn.
Board Secreta
