Y <br /> MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of 9 January 1997 <br /> Commissioner present: Harry Desrosiers, Chairman Pro Tens, David <br /> Sharpe, John Johansen, Ralph Shaw, Greg <br /> tarsen. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m. <br /> 6:55 RU CK COMMENT PERIOD: None. <br /> 7:15 WILLIAM E. BURTIS for a Determination of Applicability on <br /> request to remove an emoting underground gas tank and insta.R a new double <br /> wall tank with connecting piping; pump and remove esng cesspool and <br /> install new subsurface sewage system; and construction of a second story <br /> office and construction of a metal show building at 15 Riverside Drive. Dave <br /> Sar i presenting with a representative of Volta Oil. Plans were previewed. <br /> The tank has been in there 30 years and will be replaced with a double wall <br /> tank, going from 1500 gal. to Zoo gal. <br /> Mr. Desrosiers asked if there will be testing of soils? The gentleman from <br /> Volta Oil advised they will test for evidence of contamination at the time o <br /> removal. Deputy Fire Chief Sheldon Haffibhn approved of the project. <br /> W. Sanicki advised Mason Environmental previously did testing in the area. <br /> There are no volatiles on site. The office structure, serviced by the septic tank <br /> will be upgraded to Title V septic tank pump system. The Baldaufs next t door <br /> are on a well. <br /> W. Sherman stated all of the work meets ether codes. In land subject to <br /> coastal. storm-flowage under the state there are no performance standards. <br /> Under the bylaw there are some requirements but this area has already been <br /> disturbed. He recommended a negative finding. <br /> Aft. Wi rsen asked how the tank would be anchored and was told by concrete <br /> deadmen. <br /> 1r. Sherman asked that a statement be added to the request that there wiR <br /> be an inspection of the erosion control by the Agent prior to the excavation. A <br /> letter was written i <br />
