9 January 1997 <br /> Page 9. <br /> Rivers Protection Act: An Advisory Committee was formed. MACC and <br /> Audubon were left off this group. <br /> Comments from Alexandra Dawson of M CC were distributed for review. <br /> Material by Russ Cohen of the Riverways Program was distributed. <br /> Storm Water Management: A new DEQ' policy was received. The Agent <br /> advised he asked the Buzzards Bay project to host a meeting in February <br /> their office in Marion. A meeting with the sub-committee will be arranged. <br /> Cranberry ;s: Excerpts from Cranberry Bog Best Management Practices <br /> by the Cranberry Experimental Station were distributed. This should be <br /> applied to the town bogs. He suggested looking over the section on <br /> sediment/erosion control. Their own research shows that bogs in the water <br /> table have environmental hab' 'ties. <br /> Budget: Copy distributed for review. Mr. Sherman suggested a <br /> subcommittee be formed next year to set goals. <br /> Rainfall: An article was reviewed concerning the record 1996 rainfall. <br /> Town Forest Committee: At the request of Town Counsel, the Commission <br /> held another vote on the transfer of property. <br /> VE: Motion Ornade and seconded to transfer the care, custody and control <br /> of the town forest lard shown on Assessors Map 89, Block 1 and bounded to <br /> the east by Great Neck Road South, to the west by Great Hay Road and to the <br /> south by the Greenwood Estates subdivision, so called, to the Board of <br /> Selectmen for the pose of establishing a Town Cemetery, as said land is no <br /> longer needed for forest or conservation poses. <br /> Unanimous Vote. <br /> Jacobs Engineering Group: Where are an additional six drums by the boat <br /> ramp in Johns Pond to measure ground water flow. It is not a violation <br /> because they do not have to file mih us, but have agreed to File, whenever <br /> possible. A. letter to be seat to make then aware that even though they are <br /> not required to fie, they are to notify the Commission. A tentative meeting <br /> has been scheduled with them on 24 January to discuss thej*r future plans. <br /> The Agent, Mr. Wirsen and Mr. Green will attend. <br />
