MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> Minutes January 1997 <br /> Commissioners present: Harry Desrosiers, Chairman Pro 'dem, John <br /> Johansen, George Green Jr., Ralph Shaw. <br /> The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. No Hearings were <br /> scheduled for this evening; the purpose was to take care of old business. <br /> Pearistin: The hearing was closed pending verification of distances by the <br /> Agent. He stated the Commission is only getting a 35' buffer and should defer <br /> on the vista pruning until any impacts from the house are seen. <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to condition that vista pruning will he <br /> deferred until the impacts from construction of the house are evident. <br /> Unanimous Vote. <br /> Reg Changes - non-imminent: The Agent suggested a steering committee <br /> be formed to work on these concepts. <br /> The Agent suggested the Commission might want to consider the 5 ppm <br /> Nitrogen Loading standard adopted with a denitrifying system as the <br /> absolute target. The Commission has leen accepting variations when the <br /> increased amount of bedrooms has a smaller ppm rate with the denitrifying <br /> system than the lesser amount without. Commissioners comments to the <br /> Agent after review. <br /> Storm Water Management: A meeting will be arranged for the sub- <br /> committee to meet with the Buzzards Pay Protect later next month. <br /> Design speoiaions: The bylaw allows for regulations in design <br /> specifications. The Agent suggested there should be a subcommittee for this <br /> also. A muRummum standard could be set. Question was raised that engineers <br /> would target the bottom line. To be reviewed for comments. <br /> Statements on pians: The Agent will cone up with language at the next <br /> meeting concerning what should be shown on plans re resource areas. <br /> 2 - Buffer Zones & Buffer Strips: It was written as a regulation before <br /> it wasp ut into the bylaw. It is not needed as a regulation but management i <br /> options should be incorporated as a reg the LORI chart showing atanes <br /> incorporated as a -standard for which the Commission i aiming. fir . <br /> Sherman suggested specific language be applied that under no circumstances <br /> will the Commission go below the 35 feet. <br />
