5 February 1998
Wage 11.
8:30 STEPHEN LEMPITSKIs 102 Captain's Row, continued from 9 October
1997. Michael Grotzke presenting. At the last hearing, two more sections
across the coastal bark were requested. Two supplemental profiles were i
done. They do not propose to alter the slope of the bank. This is to confirm
there is no change. Another issue was the method to integrate with the
timber revetment to the north that is 10 feet beyond his chenfs property line.
They will construct up to the property line; there is a 10 foot gap. Mr.
Sherman asked if it was not customary o return it, if not on the other on his
own: It does not make sense to stop abruptly.
Mr. Grotzke stated it is such an eroding bank that it is not appropriate to
excavate for a return. They could ask to taper it down. It is an interim
solution. Mr. Sherman stated more details for how it is going to be stabilized
wii1l be needed.
Mr. Grotzke stated nothing is changing from the original presentation. The
revetment is only 6 feet tall.
Mr. Johansen suggested putting in gabions. Mr. Grotzke agreed that was a
possible alternative to terminate it.
Mr. Sherman stated there was another issue about the salt marsh and the
grass above it. Mr. Grotzke was to make a determination and Aft. Sherman
would go out and verify it. Mr. Grotzke stated they have not verged it. Mr.
Sherman stated CZM looked at it with him. There were two profiles given
and none at each end. Construction methodology and impacts must be
considered. He asked about gabions at the end of this? He recommended
taking care of the wetland plant identification issue and two extra profiles.
Public comment: none.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded to continue the hearing to 19 February
1998 at 9:20 p.m. at the request of the applicant. Unanimous vote.
NEARING CONTINUED TO 19 FEBRUARY 1998 AT 9:20 P. I.
8:40 JOHN C. POOR, 47 Waterline Drive South, continued from
January 1998. Steve Doyle presenting with Mr. Powers and Bill Reilly,
builder. They have located MHW from the Riverfront area. The full 290 feet,
the entire parcel, is within the area. It is a very odd shaped parcel. The
project has been scaled back a couple of tunes. The house and deck is 2400
s.f., reduced to within reason. The deck is very narrow. He understands the
