MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of 14 May 1998 <br /> Commissioners present: John Fitzsimmons, Elliot Rosenberg, John <br /> Johansen, George Green Jr., Greg v irsen. <br /> The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. with a quorum present. <br /> 6:45 REGULATIONS RING: In accordance with the provisions of the <br /> Town ofMashpee Conservation Bylaw, Chapter 172, Rules and Relations <br /> concerning wetlands, a hearing was held to revise standards for vegetation <br /> rhn <br /> management within naturally vegetated butter strips. <br /> Public comments: none. <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to accept the revised regulation for <br /> options within naturally vegetated buffer strips. <br /> Unanimous Vote. <br /> 6:55 PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Torn Fudala, 'down Planner, was <br /> present for the Chairman and Commissioners' signatures on forms for Self <br /> Help grants. In order to be reimbursed,sed, the town neem to do a management <br /> plan. He reviewed them for the Commission. <br /> The Lopez property: only proposal for use on the property is trails and <br /> parking, two along the roadway, and a sign describing it as part of the <br /> Mashpee River Woodlands Lopez property. <br /> VOTE; Motion to accept the management plan for the Mashpee River <br /> Woodlands-Lopez property. Unanimous Note. <br /> The Ruff property: Where is a cranberry bog on this property with a lessee. <br /> An RTA is on the agenda tom*ght for a paring area. There is a proposal to <br /> have a boardwalk over the bogs for educational tours. Work to be done by <br /> the Conservation Corps. F gs will be with the Commission for anything <br /> that is to be clone on the property. <br /> There is also the large chum of land acquired as part of the Spring West <br /> subdivision. <br /> Noel Lerner and Town Counsel have suggested that even though the contract <br /> with the lessee is to 1999 and continues unless someone wishes to end it, the <br /> Town should go out with an RFP and solicit bids for a new operator.
