No project <br /> and/or alterations (within the jurisdiction of Chapter 172) shall cause unacceptable <br /> significant or cumulative effect upon these values (See section 12 of Chapter 172.) <br /> (A) Public or Private Water Supply (Reserved) <br /> (B) Groundwater(Reserved) <br /> (C) Flood Control (Reserved) <br /> (D) Erosion and Sedimentation Control (Reserved) <br /> (E) Storm Damage Prevention (including Coastal Storm Flowage) (Reserved) <br /> (F) Water Quality(Reserved) <br /> (G) Water Pollution Control (Reserved) <br /> (H) Fisheries (Reserved) <br /> (I) Shellfish (Reserved, see also (L), Recreation <br /> (J) Wildlife Habitat and Biodiversity (Reserved) <br /> (K) Rare Species Habitat (including rare plant species) (Reserved) <br /> (L) Recreation: <br /> (1) Definition (see section 24 for the definition). <br /> (2) Activities or Alterations Deemed to Cause Unacceptable Significant or <br /> Cumulative Effects upon Recreation- <br /> (a) The deployment of floats (anchored by piles or pipes and subject to <br /> the Commission's jurisdiction) of greater than 200 square feet. <br /> Rationale- Floats larger than this size present a problem for rec- <br /> reational shellfisherman, attempting to dig/rake underneath. Ad- <br /> ditionally, large floats block sunlight necessary for maintaining <br /> ing submerged aquatic vegetation(abbrev.- S.A.V., such as Eel- <br /> grass). The S.A.V., in turn serves as the base of the benthic com- <br /> munity, including shellfish. <br /> (L) Agriculture and Aquaculture (Reserved) <br />
