Al <br /> MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of 11 May 2000 <br /> Cor nissioner present: Elliot Rosenberg, Chair Pro Tem, Carol Moore, <br /> John Johansen, Greg wirsen, Ralph Shaw. <br /> The Chair called the meeting to order at 6;55 p.m. with a quorum present. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: None. <br /> 7:00 DANIEL KINDER, 40 Polaris Drive, continued from 18 November <br /> 1999. Peter Newnan, the owner of the property was present. <br /> The Agent gave the background of the project. At present, Mr. Newman is <br /> trying to avoid ending up with a two-tone lawn. A turf expert was hired to do <br /> an evaluation. He listed the protocol required for lawns. Mr. Newman and <br /> his attorney have received a copy ofhis recommendations. <br /> The Chair asked if any of this has been done? Mr. Newman stated not yet. <br /> Mr. Sherman read from the conditions. The Chair asked if Mr. Newman was <br /> amenable? Mr. Newman stated he contacted a lawn treatment company and <br /> was told they would contact Mr. Sherman. He went over the paper work and <br /> did not see any problem. He could implement the recommendations but has <br /> concern with watering every fur clays, which may not be in the best interest <br /> f the lawn. Mr. Sherman would be willing to meet with the lawn person to <br /> see if it could be adjusted. <br /> Mr. Rosenberg stated assuming you water more often than suggested, it may <br /> net further the changeover from Kentucky blue grass to fescue. <br /> Mr. Newman stated he appreciates what the Commission is trying to <br /> accomplish and he is flexible. with the Order of Conditions, the Commission <br /> could come in and check and if of the opinion he should do otherwise, he <br /> would have to comply with the law. <br /> Mr. Rosenberg asked if it could be conditioned that the professional { <br /> overseeing this arrangement with hien be in charge of reporting to the <br /> Commission on this? Mr. Sherman suggested continuing for another two <br /> weeks to work out the bugs. <br /> Mr. Newman stated another concern is that the expert indicated it should be <br /> done as soon as possible. He asked if the board would be willing to join with <br />
