5
Tune 2000
Page 11.
Mr. Brabants stated he compromised and moved it another 8'. This is a case
where it is not a wetlands issue, it is a ease of animal habitat. If this is an
animal habitat that needs to be preserved for any reason, but he has letters
that here are no endangered species, he has hired a scientist. The sane
animals that are on there, presumably red fox, squirrels, he can take out
Bunting license from November 1st to February 21h and there is no daily
limit on how many he can kill. He checked with the State and he can trap on
there. It is ridiculous that he is being put through jumping through hoops to
preserve something that the Mate is paying people to kill.
Mr. Rosenberg asked to see the plans?
Mr. Brabants. stated he would like to go deeper because the real issue is the
habitat. This is the new plan he submitted. The pointed to the whole lot and
also pointed out the portion he is using. He moved this back, in some places
1 ' ". The Conservation Agent proposed he move it back 3 . when he had a
conversation with the Agent on Tuesday morning, she reminded hire that he
did not have to have setbacks....Mr. Sherman interrupted to Mate that Mr.
Brabants is referring to the Assistant Conservation Agent. Mr. Brabants
stated he would like to have a setback of at least 13' 'from the next lot and if
the work limit is lien (pointing) there is no doubt that he could physically
build a house in that space, but it would not be the intent for which he
bought the land.
1 . Rosenberg Mated someone should have advised Mr. Brabants about the
regulations before he purchased the land. Mr. Brabants Mated he talked to
Bob Sherman February 'nth.
Mr. Sherman stated, for the record, at the time he talked to Mr. Brabants
and the time he talked to Michael Grot ke, he told them no one had been to
the site yet and the discussions were preliminary......Mr. Brab ants
interjected, about vernal pools. Mr. Sherman stated itwasn't the final
determination. Mr. Brabants agreed he did say that, but before he bought
this land he had engineers cheek, he had the scientist, because he said, "Let"s
wake sure there is not a wetland issue". After he dict all the work on the
wetlands, the day he was supposed to cone to the hearing, the Assistant
Conservation Agent contacted Mike Grot ke and said there is a new problem,
wetlands isn't an issue, it is now wildlife habitat.
Ms Boretos stated Mr. Brabants is giving misinformation to the Commission.
That is not what she told Mr. Grot ke.
