There is a general agreement to proceed as <br /> much as possible in order to meet EPA constraints. However, it <br /> has been made clear that the order of Conditions , would stipulate <br /> that no full time pump and treat system would be approved until <br /> such time as an agreement has been reached regarding monitoring <br /> of wetlands, effects thereof, and protocol for mitigation. <br /> upon brief inspection-of the site Ms . 13oretos reported there <br /> is an obviously large wildlife population, as well as quite <br /> possibly orchid habitat. <br /> which is precisely the reason total agreement will not be <br /> reached regarding monitoring until such time as a botanical. � <br /> inventory has been completed. <br /> M-r. minor explained it will not be necessary to expand the <br /> building, as the necessary amount of water has not increased. <br /> The infiltration trenches will be improved to improve flow and <br /> enhance the fishery. <br /> (References were being made to the Plan in response to <br /> inquiries from thecommission. ) <br /> Mr. Minor explained all the shallow well points are going to <br /> be removed and two addition wells are to be built in the upland <br /> area. The total capacity of the system will remain at <br /> approximately 700 gallons per minute, however extraction methods <br /> will be refined and rade more efficient. <br /> Ms. Boretos requested the current formal drought period be <br /> taken into consideration regarding the water tables within the <br /> wetland. <br /> Whore was some discussion regarding the water extraction and <br /> return points relative to clean-up measures. <br /> The Chairman recognized Bill Kelly, Southport resident who <br /> responded to his notification that his property is 100 feet away <br /> from the project. <br /> Mr. Sherman explained to Mr. Kelly' s satisfaction and <br /> understanding he resides 100 feet away from the property, not the <br /> action being taken. <br /> There being no further Commission or public comment, the <br /> -8- <br />
