Mashpee conservation Commission <br /> Minutes of dune 12,2008 <br /> Public clearings <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> commissioners Present: John Fitzsimmons,, Ralph Shave, .Jeff Cross, Lloyd Allen,John Rogers and Len <br /> Pinaud <br /> staff present: [drew McManus(Conservation Agent), Liz Leidhold (Asst. conservation Agent) and <br /> Melissa Brown (Board Secretary) <br /> John Fitzsimmons called the meeting to order 5: pm <br /> Public Comment: <br /> 1 Alfred White of the save Popponessett Bay Association stood to address the Commission. <br /> Mr. White explained that the Association is seeking permission to install symbolic fencing <br /> around the spit on Poppon ssett Bay. The fencing would help protect the dune grass; he <br /> explained that they would also like permission to erect a few signs on the property. Mr. White <br /> stated that the signage would state rules for the area as well as a sign about no swimming in <br /> the channel. The Agent explained that they had asked that the Conservation department <br /> name-be on the sign to carry more authority but they wound leave it oft if the Commission <br /> opposed the use of the name. The Agent explained that he did not feel the fencing warranted <br /> an RDA, as it'will consist of some wooden stakes and rope, it would also be in the buffer <br /> area.The Agent further explained that the fencing would match what already a dsts in the <br /> area installed by the Massachusetts Audubon society.The Commissioners questioned the <br /> location of the fencing and asked that it be marked ked on a plan and it possible at the site. The <br /> Commissioners explained that they want to make sure the location is on the Assortion's <br /> land and not someone else's due to pending litigation in the area over property lines. Mr. <br /> White agreed to ascertain the property lines and bring a plan to the next hearing on.June 26, <br /> 2008. <br /> Post HeAring Agenda: <br /> 1 Administrative_Approval SE 43-2500: Keeian way <br /> The Agent explained that this project was previously approved-for two foundations and new homes <br /> to be built on the property. The Agent explained that the applicants are now requesting removal of <br /> a large Black Oak gree. The tree sits perilously close:to where the-house will stand and needs to <br /> be removed.The Commission asked if mitigation would be included with the removal of the tree. <br /> The Agent explained that he could add Mitigation in to the project as part of the landscape plan. <br /> Motion made,seconded and unanimously carried to Administratively Approve SE 43.2500. <br /> 2 Trust of the eotuit Bay condo iniu m -418 Quinaquis et Aire <br /> (continued indefinitely May 0,2008) <br /> The Agent explained that he had been in touch with the representatives from the Trust of the <br /> Cotuit Ba Condominiums and that they had set a date for the continuance but that it needed to b <br /> approved by the Commission. The date that was chosen was 00/04/2008 Q 7:03 p.m. The Agent <br /> explained as an aside that there will be no more indefinite continuances, all applicants will have to <br /> establish a date so that the public receives proper hotification and can prepare if need be to <br /> present against the application. <br /> Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried for a cerWinuance until 0310412008 a@ 7:03 <br /> p.m. <br /> Approve Ming Minutes from 05M512008. <br /> S <br />
