Conservation Commission Minutes of May 10, 2012 Public Hearings M shpee Torn Hall - Conference Room 2 Commissioners: Charman John Fitzsimmons, vice Chairman Ralph Shaw, Brad Sweet, Mark Gurnee: Patty Jalowy, and John Rogers Staff Present: Drew McManus (Conservation Agent) and Kris Carpenter{Administrative Secretary) Call Meetina To order: 6:55 prn The meeting was called to order with a quorum by Chairman Fitzsimmons at 6:55 pm. There was no public comment. Pre/Post Hearing Agenda: 1Minutes.: Approval of the following minutes: April 2 , 2012 Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the minutes of April 26, 2012 2 Noisy y Hole Gleams Recap—Approximately 50-60 people volunteered throughout the morning. Cape Cod GeoCa hing brought in a front end loader and a bobcat. Local landscape company Ace Arboriculture also had a bobcat with a grappling attachment. The entire cleanup was completed by about 12:30pm and about 50 transfer station vouchers were issued. The large dump ter that was donated by Pina Sanitation was filled to capacity with construction debris and then disposed of at the Bourne Landfill. Many other local businesses donated various iters including gloves, trash bags, water and food. Donations carne from Walgreens of I a tepee, Dino's Pizza, Starbucks, Botallo Lumber, Roche Bros, Iahpee True value Hardware, Stop and Shop and Siena Restaurant. The Cape Cod G eoca che rs offered to volunteer for future clean-ups-if needed. Agent McManus mentions that the local residents of Noisy Hole Rd and the surrounding neighborhood will be very vigilant about any activities that occur in Noisy Hole. Four gates have been purchased to restrict vehicle access to the conservation areas off Noisy Hole Rd. Gates are slated to be installed before the end of May, 2012 HEAiINGS 7:00 John Foley (184 1 l onomoscoy Road) Remove existing deck and replace with a larger deck RDA CT 'd to Mezy 24th : 6 i,** Resource Area: LSCSFI Buffer Zone to salt Ili Material submitted: Plot Pan— Proposed Deck 3116112 BSS Design [7-151 Jeff Ryther from BSS Design explains that they would like to remove the deck and replace with a larger decd . The expansion is along the' back of the house and is not roving closer to the resource area. Agent McManus states that the area for proposed deck expansion is existing lawn and recommends placement of a silt fence along the work limit. The agent also states that he noticed there was evidence of tree topping and it is possible that it took place several years ago but he told Mr. F yther to inform the owners that pruning trees for any kind of view requires-a permit
