Mr. Burman has <br /> done a significant amount of work along this stretch of coast in determining erosion rates and has a <br /> great deal of experience with this particular coast line. The agent states that Mr. Berman reported new <br /> information regarding the dimensions of the bank which everyone seers to agree on the overall <br /> formula but Tidewat h consultant had stated the top of coastal bank to be 22'; Woods Hole Group <br /> started 23.5' and Mr. Burman reported 22.4'. The Tidewath consultant had determined the bottom of <br /> the coastal hank to be '; Woods Hole determined o' and Mr. Berman's findings were 1.9'. Tide rat h <br /> consultants said the height of the coastal bank was 18 7; Woods Hole said 23.5' and Mr. Berman stated <br /> 20. '. The.length of the coastal bank was unanimously agreed on o '. The difference of erosion rates <br /> is; Tie rat h reported 1' per gear; Woods Hole Group reported ' per year; and Mr. Berman reported 3' <br /> per year. Agent McManus states that based on the calculations for nourishment volume estimated by; <br /> Tid ewat h was 364 cu.yrds. a year; Woods Hole Group proposed 1,410 cu. yrd . year; and Mr. Berman <br /> started 1,230 cu.yrds per year.y The went has scheduled a sight visit with Mr. Burman next Wed ne day, <br /> October 17 1h so that the Commissioners can take a look at the sight fiat hand and answer any <br /> questions. Agent McManus contacted Amy Cohen from the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife because <br /> Attorney Fogel had inquired if there would be any detrimental effects to rare species habitat off the <br /> coast and Ms. Cohen indicated the area was mapped as foraging habitat for Viper Plover, Least Terns, <br /> Roseate Teras and Common Terns which the addition of sand to the area is determined to be a benefit <br /> to the habitat. Mr. Berman's report stated that-due to the lack of profiling over several years, it rakes <br /> hard to determine the erosion rates and the figure he is corning up with is from the information-that was <br /> provided to him. Agent McManus states that Mr. Berman's report is only a preliminary at this point <br /> 6) Richard Cook Filing — Richard Cook has filed a letter with DEP requesting to reduce the footprint of the <br /> aquaculture farm to put it below the threshold of alterations in a velocity zone which triggers an <br /> Environmental Notification requirement. Torn Counsel stated that in order to be disputed, an <br /> amendment will need to be filed by the attorneys for their original dispute with DEP. <br /> 7) Sub Committee„Report.— Brad Sweet, Mark Gurnee and Agent McManus met to discuss proposals to <br /> update the mitigation regulation. Agent McManus explains that submitted mitigation plans show rows <br /> of uniform plants which is more of a generic plan. The agent states that he has contacted Mary <br /> LeBlanc from LeBlanc Landscape Design to come to another meeting to help with some idem for the <br /> mitigation regulation. <br /> Agent McManus shovers some pictures of the completed Moody Pond Project and comments that they have <br /> placed large boulders in place of the concrete piles as one of the piles had been removed 'and two of the <br /> bushes were trampled. <br /> Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 pm.
