Murphy; Leonore Anderson,
Health Agent; John Ferguson, Capital Program chr n-*' -,- Monica
McNally, Falmouth Enterprise; Steven H. Corr, Francis Yanu;mpw
skiewicz from Weston Sampson, Also attending Richard Halpern.
Prior to the arrival of representatives of h Weston & Sampson, FB in-
formed the hoard that when he was up with Selectman Thomas and the
Shellfish Warden to Lakeville re the Mahpee River Closing, DEE had .
indicated at the time -that they wanted a written program from the B/H,
Shellfish Warden and the Selectmen as to what procedures would be taken
to find the source of pollution, cFB has .put together six positions
that we should be taking, some we are taking and others that will be taken.
1 , Assistance from County Health in setting up a water testing pro-
gram through which we hope to determine- selected areas for on-
shore scrutiny, this program has already been put into effect
with the cooperation of Mr. George Heufelder, county Health
Sanitarian. we have also discussed with Mr. Stetson Hall,
County -Health officer, the possibility that we might be able
somehow either through county, Town or cooperation of the Air
Force to take infra red photos of the Diver area and see if
through that process we right be able to see something coming
in.
Ms. Champagne advised cFB to speak to George regarding the
Infra red process.
2 cooperating with other town depts with regard to on.-shore
inspection of the river banks, particularly near the marsh
area where the highest counts of polution have -turned up. We
have already begun searching the records of older type homes
especially in low lying- areas to see if we can correlate those
particular sites with whatever readings from the water inspec-
tions. . Request that the Highway Dept designate on an area map
the locations of all road drains that discharge to the river.
Request that all residents of the area report all unusual ac-
tivity in the area (i.e. pumpers) CFB stated he hatted to state
it that way because we would be getting a report every time he
goes down the street, ; boats large enough to have an on board
head and bird flockings -and their locations, Also, in the area
to the northwest which contain cranberry bogs which aren' t
being worked but they are a deer yard area and that the Town
request information from the natural Resource Officer, either
Studley or the State as to the size of the population of the
deer.
CHL felt that after speaking with George Heufelder at the previous ap-
pearance before the Board that geese really could have been `[--he problem
with the high number of the flocks.
M
