ToT�N of MASHPEE <br /> BOARD of HEALTH <br /> MEETING <br /> MINUTES <br /> FEBRUARY 1.3 , 1985 <br /> Members present: Charles H. Lawrence, Charles F. Bukingha <br /> also Health Agent, Leonore C. Anderson <br /> Member absent: Roland L. Wilson Ill <br /> Meeting called to order at 6 :30 n. . <br /> 1 . Executive Secretary, Joseph Murphy met with - the members of <br /> this Board to elaborate on asbestos in Town Buildings; Catherine <br /> Swanson an Industrial Hygenic engineer, inspected the current <br /> Town Hall and the now demolished old Town Hall on Route 130 , the <br /> asbestos was found to be heavy in- the old building -and some tears <br /> on - pipes in this. building. EE 'was notified and a Robert John- <br /> son suggested that it be , secured or removed. <br /> The EXe utive Secretary was relue Cing that this Boardcon- <br /> sider the proposal to deposit the asbestos in the Landfill., or, <br /> a suggestion had been made by Wendy Dubin that the old boiler <br /> room still standing at the site of the old Town Miall be used as <br /> a future base for a bandstand, Mr. Murphy suggested that perhaps <br /> the asbestos could be contained within that room and sealed. <br /> Mrs. Anderson had advised Mr. Murphy that professional help <br /> better be employed to remove the substance . <br /> Mr. Murhy left the reports of the findings and DEE reed -- <br /> lations from DEE. { <br /> . The water duality test at the new DPW Building was discussed, <br /> readings were high in iron, sodium and conductivity. Mr. Murphy <br /> suggested that a ?member of .--this Board spear to members of the <br /> DPW Bldg Committee who" would be meeting downstairs this evening, <br /> (Mr. Lawrence attempted to speak to this group however the group <br /> was posted to meet and did not)- . on Thursday 2/14/85 a letter <br /> was sent to that Committee from this Board advising them that <br /> this Board suggesting relocating the well, either going deeper, <br /> or changing the well point* <br /> 8 , warrants signed. <br /> . Minutes of 2/4/85 meeting accepted as written by CFB, second <br /> CHL, <br /> . Memo, Five Town Solid waste from Exec. Sec. read into record. <br /> 6 , Memo from Exec. Seo. re: Litigation from Town Employees . NOTED. <br /> 7'. Copy of let.ter from DEQE to Vern Thomas re: Pine Hill Estates. NOTED <br /> 8 . DEQE 1tr to William Lieberman re : ad l an denial.
