Minutes of March 31, 1986 meeting accepted as written; notion CFB, <br /> second RLW. <br /> . Warrants signed. <br /> 3 . CFB- noted the absence of member -Lawrence, it was believed at that <br /> point that he was hospitalized for surgery of blockage in small intes <br /> - <br /> tine/gastritis. (LATER, IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE SCHEDULE FOR SURGERY <br /> COULD NOT ACCOMODATE HIM UNTIL MONDAY APRIL 14, 1986') o <br /> Copy of letter (form) left at doors at Summerwood, re: results of <br /> testing dorle at that complex for VOC ' s by the County Health Dept. The <br /> preliminary results showed detection in Building Nos. 8 DI , F1 , T EA, <br /> 13 Fl , TCEA) 1 D11 F1 , T EA 1 TCE _ 21 b1 , F1 , T EA '. <br /> CFB: "In regard to that, we are assuming that the source of emination <br /> is in all probability, the disposal. area. " Agent: "Thur re riot as- <br /> suming that because there ' s no pattern, I mean in one lot you get it, <br /> the next lot you won 't, there is an area over there (the new develop <br /> ment) where it' s hit or miss on different . lots , that was used as a <br /> storage area at one time by a contractor. It was known that he used <br /> to keep all sorts of fuel drums there, they don ' t know, so, they are , <br /> not pinpointing that it is corning from the disposal area, they really <br /> don' t know because there ' s no set pattern as to how and where it ' s <br /> corning from. ', Thur don ' t have too much to go on right now. " <br /> Along with this problem there was a discussion on filter which CFB <br /> said would not be endorsed, it was thought that DEE might be able <br /> to recommend a filtering system, however, the area residents must get <br /> water from ars outside approved source . <br /> Members and the Agent discussed the feasability of using the well at <br /> the Landfill for residents to use as a water source, it had been tes- <br /> ted for organics and came out clean, suggestion by CFB that the State <br /> be called' and asked to test' well at Landfill and approve it - for said <br /> source. In addition, CFB asked if that location was within the geo- <br /> grahical area that WQRC is working with, he requested that Selectman <br /> Thomas contact Dufresne-Henry to realign their priorities . <br /> A 'resident of Pheasant Run asked if the Air Force was responsible. <br /> Selectmen Thomas replied in the negative and stated that the Air <br /> Force has some 140 persons working on the other problem along with <br /> base studies from a sophisticated engineer* <br /> Another concerned resident asked if there were plans for town water. <br /> Mrs. Thomas said perhaps 5 yrs down the road, and that nothing could <br /> be pinpointed to a specific time frame, she explained that Falmouth <br /> hopefully would be supplying water to Horseshoe Bend Wary/Tri-Town Cir <br /> area and Highwood to the Rotary and Fire and Police Complex. <br /> r <br /> Jonathan Hirst asked if there had been any decis-ion legally by Town <br /> Counsel on occupancy permits. CFB will meet with T on Thurs 4/10 . <br /> James Miller asked when and how this would be handled if occupancy <br /> were to be granted., <br />
