These are additions to the State Requ i rents that the Town Board of <br /> Health is looking to irrplemnt. <br /> 1. The operator shall pry i de l i eguards 17 years of age or o l der holding a current Red <br /> Crass Advanced Saver's Certificate or Nation YMCA Lifesaver's certificate or equivalent, and a <br /> current Awr i can Heart Association or Ayer i can Red Cross CPR Cert i f i c ate and a Standard First <br /> Aid Certificate, or equivalent. If the Board of Health determines that they are necessary for <br /> the safe used of the swirrming poo 1. The deterrni rat i on of need should take into account the s i e, <br /> shape and capac i ty of the swirrmi ng-poo I. As a guy i de 1 i ne, it i s suggested that one 1 i feguard b <br /> provided for each 20 bathers. <br /> 2. . If no lifeguards are r eq u i regi by the Board of Health a warn i ng sign shall be pasted in <br /> a conspicuous location and shall state WARNING-NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY in easy to read, legible <br /> letters which are at least 4 in schwa 10chigh. In addition them will (shall) be signs which <br /> are readily visible stating CHILDREN UNDER � SIXTEEN SOLD NOT USE SWIFMING PDL WITHOUT AN <br /> ADULT IN ATTENDANCE AND ADULTS SWULD NOT SWIM ALONE. <br /> 3. The nurber of trained lifeguards determined n ecessary by the Board of Health shall be <br /> in constant attendance during bathing hours and no bather shall be permitted to the swimming pool <br /> un 1 es s this nuTber of l i fegua rd s is present. <br /> Chair: That's the regulation as proposed by the Board, as I say it is over and above the State <br /> Requ i rents for Sw i l ng Pool Standards, who i h have been set by the State and which are acknow- <br /> ledged by the State to be m i n i mm standards, giving the individual towns and Boards of Hea 1 th <br /> the right to exceed those standards in whichever area they might see fit.
