TOWN of MASHPEE <br /> BOARD of HEALTH <br /> MEETING <br /> DECEMBER 28 1987 <br /> Members present : Charles F . Buckingham , Roland L . Wilson , George R . Costa <br /> Called to order: 3:00 p <br /> 1 . Minutes from December 21 , 1987 not available at this time. <br /> 2. Warrants signed. <br /> . Letter reviewed fromDEQE's Mr. Thomas McMahon to Mr. Corr of Weston & Sampson <br /> stating that not enough information has been received to grant a Class III status <br /> for the town 's septage lagoon. Mr. Buckingham explained to Mr Costa that W&S had <br /> hoped that the quality of water discharged from the lagoon need not be of drinking <br /> quality. DEE may insist that the water be filtered to the point of being drinkable. <br /> Buckingham expects to hear from &S. <br /> Mr. B. mentioned the request from Pilgrim's Pride that we contact the town of Blacki <br /> stone regarding thea accepting P.P. 's septage puri out. We received the contract and <br /> .C. gave it to Andy. Mr. B: we received another letter from Upper Blackstone Water <br /> Polutlon Abatement District stating that we would need DEE approval before we sign <br /> any contract. DEQE must state that an emergency situation exists or will exist in <br /> a tepee, Mr. C. : Andy is looking into it right now, I talked to him this afternoon. <br /> Mr C: Last Monday night as I was driving home, I smelled a strong odor of sewage <br /> from the rotary down Rte 28 to P i ckw i cks - from the Eon Station to Deer Crossing. <br /> It was real strong by Pickwicks. This is the second time I 've smelled that there. <br /> Mr. T: I noticed that on 12/2/87 the grease trap for China Garden had 2000 gals. <br /> pumped. They called concerning the regulations on GT' s and I told them -1 thought it <br /> highly irregular since "the trap was onl Lrecentl installed'.`,:" I don't know if this <br /> has anyth i ng F to do with,the sme I I. Mr.,L B: - I suggest <br /> . I noticed some Gigging at the Eon' station - send aletter to the Eon Station <br /> Pickwicks telling thea they're delinquent in sending in their inspection reprts of <br /> their septic systems. - a <br /> .Bead letter to Field '-s Point asking why the CT 'ha had to be puped.It should be <br /> going into the treatment plant. Send it to SeaMist awell . <br /> 4.Memo, Food and Drug re:- Revised regs : collection Vand bottling of water and carb- <br /> onated beverages. r: B: I believe the County will have input in the Public Hearing <br /> which will be held in Boston. <br /> . Copy letter from DEE to US Coats Guard Station Cape Cod -- Hazardous Waste Regs. <br /> lir.B: This non-compliance letter looks like the on_ sent to the Air Nat ion I Curd. <br /> They're tightening up on everything. Has m sly to do with storage. <br /> . Request for Perc extension, 57 Leather Leaf La.ne.Motion Costa to extend -for six <br /> months, Wilson second, unanimous. <br /> 7. Copy letter Residents of Triton Cicle, Hosreshoebenb requesting meeting with <br /> Water Commissioners. Gottlied asked that BOH be present to answer specific questions. <br /> Re: Question 1 . , Nor , B; We don't have an answer - (question dealt with which and how <br /> many wells are bad ; e: uestion 3: dealt with why is there new construction going on <br /> if the water is bad) Mr.B: the VOC tests showed no signs of contamination. RE-.Question <br /> 17: dealt with status of wells - drinkable or not ; r.B to Bob we' ll have to put toge- <br /> ther a list of wells in the area and go from there. l believe there was one well found <br /> to be contaminated and that owner was notified. I ' 1 l make it a point to be at the meeting <br /> on Dec. 30, 1987 at 7:00 pm. 1r. T No occupancies have been issued to those who agreed <br /> to wait for town water. <br /> PUBLIC 'HEARING: <br /> Chris Costa of All Cape Survey appeared before the Board representing Leeward Run <br /> Development requesting a variance from Title V leaching trench to property line <br /> from 10' to 1 ' and the following town variances: well to septic from 150' to loo'+; <br /> septic to wetland from loo' to 591 . <br /> The following abbuter;s attended: Susan and Richard CIement (405 Oregon Rd) Roger L. <br /> Pinto (23 & 2 adc l i ffd ; <br /> Carl P.
