TOWN OF MASHPEE
Fire and Rescue Department
Route 151, Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
(508) 477-0411
August 23,1990
KEENAN & KENNY, ARCHITECTS, LTD.
P.O. Box 128
Cataumet, Massachusetts 02543
Attention: Antonia A. Kenny, A.I.A.
RE: New Town Hall
Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts
Dear Ms. Kenny:
This letter is in regard to the underground fuel storage tank planned for the
proposed Mashpee Town Hall.
It has come to my attention that Mashpee Board of Heatlh regulations prohibit the
installation of underground storage tanks for fuel oil (see enclosed). I was not
aware of the regulation during our recent phone conversation. I am also of the
understanding that a variance may be granted by the Town of Mashpee Board of
Health.
The plans submitted for the proposed tank indicate that the installation will be in
accordance with the rules regarding underground storage tanks, 527 Code of
Massachuttess Regulation 9.
With the above information in mind, I cannot issue a permit for this tank until
the proper variance is granted by the Town of Mashpee Board of Health. In
addition to this variance, a license for storage issued by the Board of Selectman
4
shall be required, in accordance with MGL Chapter 148,
section 13.
this matter is desired lease contact me directly or
If additional information on t s , p
leave a message with my secretary.
Sincerely
Geroge W. Baker, Deputy Fire Chief
cc: Will Hanson, Mashpee Selectman
Elis McQuaid, Health Agent
Fire VverTakrs the Day Off! i i
