MINUTES February 6, 1989 2 BOARD OF HEALTH . Memo from E. Virgilio to all Dept' s re: Annual Auction - Mr. costa requested Mr. McQuaid to obtain a .list of items -to be auctioned. . Copy, letter from Attorney l i rra i ne to D.E.Q.F. : Pine Tree Corner water supply Mr. McQuaid informed the Board he has learned that D.E.Q.F. will deny the waiver. 9. ) Memo from Exec. Sec. re: Explanation of town bldg, pumping procedures Mr. McQuaid explained to the Board that this memo is - as a ,result o � .� discussion taken place with Mr . Murphy. 10. Memo- from Exec. Sec. to all dept' s e: Water test results - Mashpee schools - The Board was notified of the results prior to this meeting. 11 . Copy - F.Y. I. - The Mass. Plan for Nonsmoking & Health - The Board acknowledged receiving the pamphlet. 12. Letter from Janes Plunkett to B.O.H. r e-, Pumping - Pilgrims Pride - Mr. costa explained to the Board that- he did speak with M . Plunkett and the Sewer commissioner and commented Mr. Plunkett did state that the system rust •be pumped consecutively for a period of two to three days. Mr: Costa requested Mr. McQuai-d to inform pumpers of the pro- blem and request their assistance with this project, prion to any repairs taking place. 13. Letter from Cheryl Grooms to B.O.H. re: Removal of U.S.TS -- Route 130 and Cotuit Road - Mr. McQuaid exp ained to the Board that Nis. Grooms is requesting an extension of .time," in -whi h to-remove the 'storage tank. Mr. Costa motioned to grant the extension as requested with expiration date of February 20, 1989, Mr, ,Gree l i sh seconded, a l l ag reed. Mr. McQuaid informed the Board that Chief Ridgeway has been informed, from a reliable source, that no tanks exist pat the site. 14. ) memo from Carol acobsen ',re: D.F.Q.E. > c.c. .M..P.- meeting Mr. reelish suggested a copy of the U.S.T. re lstra ions along with a letter be forwarded to oil companies servicing the areas in which they are located and commented this procedure would aid in detecting which tanks have not been registered T THIS TIME, the Board discussed articles for annual town meeting. Mr. McQuaid informed the Board that an article for the part-tine posi- tion osi- tion has not been submitted. Mr. C,osta explained to Board members that new positions for various town departments are not looked upon favorably due to the increase in the F.Y. 90 budget.. Mr. • Costa suggested this Board withdraw its request for an additional part-time psiti•o:n,the Board was in agreeance and upon motioned duly rude by Mr. costa and seocnded by Mr. Greelish motioned to withdraw the request for an additional part-time position.
