MINUTES February 6, 1989 4 BOARD of HEALTH <br /> , APPOINTMENT: Gail Naples - 9 Devonshire Road <br /> Ms, Naples was not in attendance for this meeting however Mr. Costa <br /> stated a letter was submitted to this Board explaining the problems of the <br /> existing septic system. <br /> 1r. McQuaid explained to the Board that Ms. Maples dwelling is 18 <br /> months old and piping u sed for installation of the septic- system was sche- <br /> duled <br /> he-duled 10 P.V.C. piping as opposed to the scheduled 40 under Mashpee regula- <br /> tions, <br /> egula- <br /> tions. Mr. McQuaid further explained that the cracked pi'pe was replaced <br /> however Ms. Naples questions the distance between well and septic as deli- <br /> neated on plans, Mr. McQuaid commented, Ms. Naples spoke with the Engi- <br /> neers, <br /> ngi-neers, Low & Weller, who indicated that their responsibility was with the <br /> installation of septic system not the precise location of the well . Mr. <br /> McQuaid stated. that Ms. Naples is requesting the Board' s support in relo- <br /> cating the system, if necessary, or to relocate the well to create the 100 <br /> foot separation and explained another concern was that the primary leaching <br /> pit was installed in the reserve area, thus decreasing the distance from <br /> the well to °sept i o further. <br /> Nor. Greelish stated he would support Ms. maples contention that the <br /> engineer is resonsible for ensuring, when he certifies that work has been <br /> completed according to plan, that the appropriate separation between well <br /> and septic has oured as designed. <br /> Mr. Costa commented that the engineer will be-rAequested to submit a <br /> . ,letter to this Board stating} that the system was installed according .the <br /> plans . <br /> The Board was in agreance, <br /> APPOINTMENT: Joy ackun s = Darianoe request ,1371 -1373 Cayuga Avenue <br /> P. i s F { <br /> 5 a <br /> 3 _ V <br /> Ms. Jac una s was not in a�tterida�nce for this chedu 1 ed appointment, <br /> however discussion took place regarding the variance request. <br /> Mr. McQuaid explained to the Board that a septic permit was denied <br /> previously due to the distance from the proposed leaching pit and abutting <br /> well , ( less than 90' away) . Mfr. McQuaid stated Ms. Jackunas is requesting <br /> the Boards advice as to what alternatives encist if the lot is rendered un- <br /> buildable. <br /> Mr. Costa stated the only alternative is to request the abutting lot <br /> owner to relocate their well , which would render the lot buildable. Mr. <br /> Costa requested Mr. McQuaid to forward a letter to Ms. Jackunas notifying <br /> her of the lot status. <br /> Fernandes - -Mr. McQuaid informed the Board that he is meeting with the <br /> installer and engineer this thursday,, to locate the problem with the system. <br /> M . Costas ,requested Mr. McQuaid to report to the Board, once inspected, <br /> With his findings. <br />
