i
after nine with all restaurants being posted. That would be the beginning.
Upgrading their systems. That is the most important after the air quality
test. The air quality test would have to be taken within 30 or 60 days.
Then they would lose the right to allow smoking. We could even get
stricter than that if need be."
Mr. Santos, "The only thing that I would say Steve is that you know a fever
years ago 1 would agree with the air quality. But,, we've just been giving
data an information that these systems don't work. They do not remove
the possible carcinogens from the air. I don't know hover much more what
are going to gain from more air studies and upgrading systems. Mandate
you three bars before you allow smoking in there you have to upgrade
you system. To what? The industry doesn't have a system that removes
100% or to make it safe. That would be his only question to that. What
standard do a set? There is no standard. There is no system that does it
as of right now. The technology might be there but it is not there. There
isn't a place down the street to go an .buy,11
Mr, Ball, "The standard you would be setting would probably be the air
quality testing in the smoking areas and non-smoking area. If you
compared for an example and we'll only use this for an example Dino's to
another restaurant and he does his air quality test in a smoking area and
a non-smoking area and say 10 is the number. Now in another restaurant
he does his air quality test in smoking and non-smoking and 2 is the
number with one being the worst. Then he'd have to upgrade to 10 or 15.
If that is the best we have."
Mr* Doherty, "I'm lost."
Mr. Ball, "if both tests care back and there was a difference and in
another restaurant and there wasn't a very good difference at all. Then
we'd have to find out what that number is and you would be required to
upgrade that system until you hit your 10, say. Do you know ghat
mean "
Mr. Doherty, "Yeah, kind of."
Mr. Ball, "Are you lost on that."
Mr. Doherty, "No, no, no. f kind of follow you. Frankly, 1 think it is money
Brasted. I agree with ASI EA where they state that there is no system
that can completely remove particularly the gaseous the gaseous
compounds, solids, suspended solid, particular matter can be removed
but the gaseous represents a real problem. Not to pick on Dino's but let's
take that for an example because it is a good one. Two separate
2
