i
f
the well to the septic. Now they don't have the 150' it'is. a variance. It i
tied to the septic and the County program will include the cost of hooking
up the town water as part of the septic upgrade. That is all paid back
when the property changes hands. The county would pay for the septic
installation and the town water hook up. That money would be paid back
basically at the time of transfer for the house. All that could occur with
somebody else's money basically. It is part of the septic upgrade and it
can be included in that process.
Mr. Ball asked the Sullivans if they had heard of that before. Was it the
first time that they had heard of it
Mr. Sullivan stated that they had not heard of this program.
j Mr. Harrington interjected that they had just found out that there was
money available, There were couple of other people they wanted to
upgrade, They were waiting for signatures for the additional money.
However, there was money actually still available in the revolving
account.
Mr. Ball asked if this created a hardship money-wise for the Sullivans.
Mrs, Sullivan replied that they were selling it,
Mr, Ball stated that he understood that they were selling the house. He
just asked a question.
Ms, Grady asked if they were eligible for the county loan program they
shouldn't have to come up with any money up front.
Ills. Warden stated that what the board has done in the past was that
rental properties were a required hook-up because they want the most
potable source of water.
i
Mr. Ball interjected that that was a rental problem.
IIs. Warden stated that they don't have any regulation. It was more of a
board policy. They were trying to give everyone who has a failed septic
an opportunity to connect to town water because it is the most potable
source of water.
Mr. Harrington stated that the regulation that goes exist is the affidavit
that if they don't have the 150' they do have to provide the affidavit. Plus,
town water is available. They don't have wait 60days it is already there.
