r <br /> Mr. Santos stated that Mr. Ball didn't want to see any type of ten feet from <br /> the entrance type of language. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that it would apply to private enterprise. <br /> Mr, Santos suggested that they move on and come back to this particular <br /> item. He continued by asking if the board wished to define enclosed, He <br /> skipped one issue. Did the board errant to include tribal rites on town <br /> property? <br /> Mr. Ball asked if the torn inspected tribal rites as a matter of course. <br /> Mr. Santos asked if it was Mr. Ball or Ms. [Grady who brought this up the <br /> last time. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that the tribe was not federally recognized. He was <br /> thinking after the last meeting that if they inspect the tribe, which they <br /> do, then they should be included. <br /> Ms. Warden stated that there are things done for religious purposes. <br /> Ms. Grady stated that they are not allowed to smoke tobacco in schools <br /> even though tobacco may have significance to the tribe,, The federal law <br /> overrules the tribal rites. They are not allowed to smoke cigarettes in the <br /> school. <br /> Ms. Warden stated that she was referring to the tribe. <br /> Ms. Grady responded that the tribe was not allowed to smoke in the <br /> schools. They could carry a pouch with tobacco on there. But,, they <br /> couldn'tsmoke cigarettes just because they are a member of the tribe in a <br /> public school. <br /> Ms. Warden stated that Ms. Grady didn't understand. If they have their <br /> own pow-wow in the back here every summer they will held their own <br /> rituals* <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that they had pow-wows up at the recreational <br /> fields. <br /> Ms. Grady asked Ms. warden if they were ten feet away from the building. <br /> IIs. warden stated that they cover the entire field* <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that it was on town owned property. <br /> 28 J /'F <br /> jr'Akr, rte:u <br />
