Mr. Ball asked if this system was in the back of the house not in the front.
Mr. McEntee responded that it was going to be in the back.
Mr. Ball asked why, if they were all going to connect to town water, why
couldn't they put It in front of the house.
Mr. McEntee responded that they couldn't do it because of the grade in
the water.
Mr. Ball asked if this was still the same groundwater, There was no
difference.
Lir, Harrington interjected that there was a slope to the property. It was
higher in back with wetlands in front. They just didn't want it to be in the
front. They didn't want to be in the buffer zone to the wetlands. They
would be looking at the denitrification systems when they had the ability
to stay in the backyard on the high side.
Mr. McEntee understood that they have a local by-law disallowing
mounded systems. ti
Mr. Ball noted that they had about three or four mounded systems.
Mr. McEntee stated that they could do a mounded system and they would
have a bump in the backyard. But, if they could have the reduction it
would be much better.
Mr. Ball asked if he wanted the reduction.
Mr, Harrington added that with the reduction they have included compost
toilets for a truly mounded system that was out of the ground. If this was
; for a grading for at repair, they hadn't done that. They have allowed the
four-foot before on other things. This was a straight repair and they were
not inside any setbacks to wetlands.
Mr, McEntee wanted to work out the best scenario,
Mr, Ball asked what variance was he requesting tonight.
Mr. McEntee was requesting a one-foot reduction In the separation to
groundwater or a four-foot separation to groundwatere
Mr, Santos made a motion to approve from five foot to one foot in the
required distance from the bottom of the system to groundwater pending10
t
. .
Y *is Y ,_'11C+tln
