Ir, Santos asked if they would have time to write up something that
would make it their own regulation and have it start up on the same date.
Mr. Harrington stated that they would have to advertise it for two weeks,,
They have other things that they want to advertise.
Mr, Santos re-iterated that he was in complete agreement with this
recommendation, If they wanted to put something together and vete on it.
Mr. Harrington wanted this to be implemented by October 11", 2003 and
then they would work on a regulation. There was another septic
regulation that he wanted to put in. 1 was a supplemental regulation for
the inspection process. Those were going to be pretty comprehensive.
They were going to start charging next year $25.00 per report. He found
out today that Harwich went to 100.00 per report for review.
Mr. Santos wasn't surprised by towns trying to boost revenue. He felt that
the biggest thing while going over the rates was that they could still make
changes before January 11t, 2004. If they were going to go up on the cost
for the r -inspections. Their time was valuable and a dollar amount should
be put on it especially if they have to keep going out for re-inspections.
They should be compensated and he felt that they were headed in the
right direction with this effort.
E.
