The report found that there was tobacco smoke exposure in the abutting <br /> business establishments to the Tinder Box Smoke Shop. <br /> Natalie Beigel, owner of the Tinder Box Smoke Shop, introduced herself to the Board. <br /> She stated that she has been taring over the past several years to figure out how to fisc <br /> the problem. She met with John Rent and the Mashpee Commons management, who <br /> suggested Ills. Beigel cal] Bristol Engineering corporation. Greg Lynch, with Bristol <br /> Engineering, carne up with an exhaust system design which he says is guaranteed to <br /> remedy the problem. Glen Harrington advised Ills. Beigel to talk to the Mashpee <br /> Building Dept. before going forward with installation of the suggested exhaust system <br /> installation at a cost of$10,000 or more. If the system does not cure the problem, the <br /> Beiges will have invested the money to no avail. Ms. Beige] said the smoking room <br /> draws a substantial amount of her business, and she held strong to her plan to fix the <br /> problem and keep the smoking room. <br /> Glen Harrington stated that until the problem is resolved, people are still being exposed <br /> to second hand smoke, and therefore the Tinder Box Smoke Shop needs to tame the <br /> responsibility for the health and safety 6f the public and close the Smoke Shop smoking <br /> room. <br /> Lucy B. Burton made a motion to issue a cease and desist order effective immediately <br /> on the smoking room until the next BOH meeting, when specific conditions to the room <br /> being re-opened will be debated further. The Tinder Box Smoke shop failure to comply <br /> will result in loss of permit. Burton Caplan seconded the motion. All approved. <br /> . John's Pond Realty Trust, 401 Rt. 151 — Board of Health septic]Violation <br /> Glen Harrington stated that a letter had'been seat to the new owner, lllir. Marino, stating <br /> the requirements for the Tight Tank installation for the beauty salon on the premises. <br /> Glen Harrington was unaware of any response having been received from Mr. Marino. <br /> The Board recommended that Glen Harrington advance all information regarding the <br /> case to Town Counsel. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> 1. DRAFT Food service "Take-OutlTake Away' or `Ready-To-Eat" Regulation <br /> Glen Harrington presented a revised draft to the Board for their consideration. Lucy <br /> Burton recommended that a stamp be placed on take out food stating that it should be <br /> consumed within 2 hours, discarded within 4 hours. Glen Harrington will circulate the <br /> draft to local food establishments for their comments and recommendations on the draft. <br /> . DRAFT Food Inspection & Enforcement Regulation <br /> Glen Harrington presented the draft with pnor BOH recommended changes. <br /> Lucy Burton made a notion to approve the Food Inspection & Enforcement Regulation <br /> draft with the incorporated changes. Burton Kaplan seconded the motion. All approved. <br /> , DRAFT Body Works Regulation <br /> Glen Harrington stated that he had made changes to the draft and will review with the <br /> Board at the next BOH meeting on .lune 113 2008. <br />
