r <br /> r ; <br /> Town of Mashpee <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH PUBLIC SESSION <br /> Minutes of the Meeting f June 27, 2012 <br /> Board Members Present; Also Present: <br /> Lucy Burton: Chairman Glen Harrington, Health Agent <br /> Burton Kaplan, Co-Chairman <br /> Kallipe Eglff, Clerk <br /> Chair an Lucy Burton called the meeting to orderat 7:00 PM. <br /> APPOINTMENTS <br /> 7:15 PM Daren Ryan — bequest for 2012 Retail Food Permit— Food Pantry— Mashpee Village. <br /> Lucy Burton commented that the Food Pantry will service residents at Mashpee pillage on an <br /> emergency basis. <br /> Karen Ryan, Resident ident Service Coordinator at Mashpee Village, introduced herself to the Board. <br /> Ms. Ryan commented that she has been with Mashpee Village for about a year. There have been <br /> occasions that they are w. rking with residents on financial matters. Ms. Ryan stated that it is brought <br /> to her attention that these residents have an immediate need for food. It may occur on a day that the <br /> rnrnunity food,pantries are not open and unavailable. M : Ryan commented that it would be helpful <br /> to have groceries available to help the family in need until they are able to connect with the <br /> community resources. <br /> Lucy Burton stated her concern on the perishable foods. If the reed is sporadic, it would be <br /> concern to keep the perishable foods fresh. If there are fruits and vegetable , how long are they <br /> kept? How often are the foods given out to residents? <br /> Ms. Ryan stated that Mashpee Congregational Church promised frozen chicken pies to Mashpee <br /> Village through a generous donor who purchased the pies. Laren Ryan commented that at this point <br /> they do not have a source of produce. The pies are a commercially prepared food that are wrapped <br /> and have use by dates. <br /> Ms. Ryan commented that she has a degree in food and nutrition and was a registered dietician for <br /> 10 years. She also has a resident, Karn Briggs, who currently has her ServSafe certificate. Ms. Ryan's <br /> certificate expired in 2g1 and she is considering renewing it. <br /> Kalliope Egl ff made a motion that the Board of Health approve the amended Food Establishment <br /> Permit Application for Mashpee Village, One-War pan ag Drive', in the auspices of Karen Ryan. <br /> Burton Caplan seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br />
