NMC <br /> will not be on the torn system as it is too expensive to connect separate buildings. Ann is <br /> interviewing and reviewing several Internet services and will report next month. It i <br /> planned to eventually connect our system with the schools thereby offering our research to <br /> them. <br /> Chain-nan Ferragamo discussed the budget. Balance of six to seven hundred dollars <br /> remains until July 1, which should cover telephone, additional software, and Heritage <br /> Week, Earl Niills speaker, in June. Dry mounting and framing for the exhibit will cost <br /> approximately five hundred dollars. <br /> NMC budget request for next year of six thousand dollars will be presented at Town <br /> Meeting for approval. Costs for Internet connection, Popponesset Open House will b <br /> covered in that budget. <br /> Members were given copy of letter seat to Michael Steinitz of Massachusetts Historic l <br /> Commission concerning MHC recommendation for National Register of Historic Places <br /> recognition for the Old Indian Meeting House and the�Iuseun . <br /> Chairman discussed Heritage Week.dune 14 to ,lune 22 and the excellent publicity given to <br /> NMC on pages 10 and 12. Members were urged to attend the events offered by other <br /> towns. Cordon Peters and Chairman Perrragarno toured the many locations which will b <br /> featured in photographs and in Earl dills' presentation. <br /> Ann Whitlow asked Prank dicks to locate a tent to be used on the lawn of the Archives on <br /> Open House day. Aran has taken care of press releases and she and Rosemary will work <br /> on invitations and programs. It is hoped the basement will be cleared out by that date and <br /> it is also hoped the Ellis Rug will be back at the Archives at that time. <br /> Chairman discussed the exhibits for the open House, describing the handouts to <br /> accompany "A walk Down n Memory Dane." She is waiting for the computer arrival to set <br /> up legends, etc. <br /> The Popponesset exhibit on August 5th will follow the sane lines as the June Open <br /> House. Joanne expressed special thanks to Ann for the outstanding work she has done for <br /> the Open House. <br /> Chairman reported MHC books (post office history and pictorial 125th history) were seat <br /> to the Mate Library. Chairman-has also seat letters to Bryant Shortsleeve, Louis Cataldo. <br /> Chairman reported on meeting with Toni Sinnott, who is working on a descriptive booklet <br /> about Ma hpee with the 1 lashpee Chamber of Commerce. Members are working closely <br /> with Assistant Planner Eric Smith on the draft HERITAGE <br /> E SER VA TIOATICOAlflvf UNITY CHARACTER. <br /> . <br /> Members were reminded to use the telephone log book and make notation when.the <br /> message was answered. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 10-30 a.m. Next meeting May 21st.
