d$ <br /> e } <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Telephone - (508) 539-1438 <br /> Fax - (508) 539-2774 <br /> MASHPEE HISTORICAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting - December 13, 2010 <br /> The Town of Mashpee Historical Commission meeting was called to order at the <br /> Archives Building at 11:15AM on Monday, December 13, 2010. Chairperson, Lee <br /> Gurney is presently hospitalized with a broken ankle and could not be present. <br /> Commissioners Present: Rosemary Burns, Frank Lord and Gordon Peters. <br /> Commissioners Absent: Lee Gurney, Chairperson <br /> We continue to have two vacancies for the Commissioners. <br /> Rosemary made a motion, and it was seconded, that we accept the Minutes of the <br /> December 14, 2009, meeting as amended. <br /> The Final Report from PAL for the Mashpee Archaeological Survey has not yet been <br /> received, but the projected date from Holly Herbster will be January 2011. <br /> The budget figures as of October 2010 are within our budget, except for the salary of <br /> the clerk, Ann Graham, which will be adjusted by the Town Treasurer at the end of the <br /> fiscal year in June 2011. <br /> Ongoing Projects <br /> Several more Mashpee History. Articles by Rosemary Burns have been produced, and <br /> are for sale at the Archives. We ask for a nominal donation of$1 to cover the cost of <br /> the printing. Lee Gurney has been assisting Rosemary to get them into a printed article <br /> format. We plan to scan them into our new computer. Rosemary is presently writing <br /> the history of the Ellis rug which was requested by the newly opened Indian Museum. <br /> We have submitted a list of projects that need to be addressed regarding our Archives <br /> building. Frank Lord has been working with Catherine Laurent of the DPW who has <br /> submitted a proposal for funding from the CPC funds. Frank has been in touch with <br /> Mary Ann Gray at the Chatham Archives to gain some insight into some companies that <br /> sell archival materials that we may need. <br />
